Also, in case you are by any chance into old Cradle of Memefilth... They are about to release previously unreleased version of Dusk.. and her embrace. Can't stomach cradle that much but Midian and Dusk are top tier black metal. Especially Midian.

Exactly. I really dig the overall production, it has that nice bit of reverb on the entire songs, it sounds like its played inside of a fucking cave or a cabin of some sorts. Its thick as fuck, like all black metal should be. I mean I get why people dont like the band, this album included. But for me it was essential jump into metal, I was listening to fucking shitty entry level metal at the time. Hearing this and listening it on the bus ride home from a field trip, being spooked shitless, just absorbing the atmosphere... nostalgia as fuck man.

So Colin Stetson, an avant-garde classical/jazz musician has 'reimagined' a 17th century classical piece and apparently there is an element of black metal to it. I haven't listened to it yet, but I'm generally a fan of Stetson's work. He teamed up with a bunch of musicians among them Greg Fox the drummer for Liturgy and Zs and Guardian Alien.
