Hey /mu/, I'm a big fan of certain sounds in metal - I think you'd classify my taste as 'power metal' generally. I love X Japan, Anciients and (don't laugh at me) Babymetal. High energy, very melodic, 'triumphant' sounding metal.
I was hoping /mu/ could give me some recommendations to expand my horizons and help me get a little more familiar with some of metal's lexicon.

I don't really like power metal but I do really like that X-Japan album. I think cause it mixes in some speed and thrashier tracks with the ballads, and then some tracks that are really just catchy hard rock. Great album.
