Shogun is still good. In Waves is catchy as fuck. Ascendancy makes me feel mixed emotions and like I'm 14 again. The Crusade is dumb, Silence in the Snow has some nice tracks, the title track is solid and Heafy sounds good, Vengeance Falls is bad but you already knew that.

Honestly senpai I had no other outlet. Shit was shit I would never tell another soul. My 15th birthday my parents tell me how much of a failure I am. I decide to cut myself as "punishment" so I remember how much of a failure I am. I cut a lot and not so deep, so I only have a few scars. I honestly feel for teens who commit suicide, I tried when I was 15, made the noose wrong, shit broke and I blacked out, woke up alive.

I listened to ISIS' Celestial a little over 6 months ago or so and I loved their mastery of riffs, but I hadn't explored much metal since. The post-hardcore/math-rock album Rusty by the band Rodan is one of the most aggressive things I've ever heard, sans the first track, and I read reviews describing it as "post-metal" strangely; Post-hardcore tends to flirt with metal I find, like Three Mile Pilot's The Chief Assassin To The Sinister. It's ostensibly a metal album but is labeled post-hardcore. And if you were to look up similar albums to Assassin you'd primarily find metal albums listed despite being labeled post-hardcore. Same with Hoover's "The Lurid Traversal Of Route 7." Found Dazzling Killmen in relation to Rodan, now listening to full blown heavy metal. Funny where music takes you. I'm just rambling ignore this.

Dunno, what's the difference? Either way, listen to Bleak. It sounds horrific, the best way to describe it would be extreme sibilance and hollowness. I acquired the vinyl rip in FLAC and listened with my HD600s, it's still not a nice album to listen to.
There are some parts of the album which sound alright, like Patterns in the Ivy, Still Day Beneath the Sun and Dirge for November, but Harvest and Bleak are nasty, Bleak especially is mortifying. Such a great track ruined by 0/10 production.

It just feels big, you know? It defines heaviness. Al Cisneros' vocals take some getting used to, but once it settles they really add to the experience. The only thing that I'm totally enamoured by are the lyrics; on one hand, the imagery they convey (carried by Cisneros) is powerful, on the other it's pretty DUDE WEED LMAO
