Which Beach Boy was missing from the Pet Sounds album cover? Wikipedo tells me there were 6 members at the time of the album's release. What gives?
It was Bruce Johnston. He joined the band in 1965 wasn't allowed on the cover for contractual reasons.

Additionally, he wouldn't appear on any artwork for a Beach Boys release until Wild Honey a year and a half later

He snuck into the back of the album though. He's the bitchboy pretending to swallow the sword.
Source: he told me about it to my face (and also my eyes, it's clearly him).

Was there really a time when you could say "turned on" and it didnt mean sexually?
>>63840444
in an lsd/drugs way
>>63840444
Yeah, the '60s. Turning onto something used to mean you got into something, and was usually used in the context of being turned onto LSD. My friends and I still say it.

Guys said.
A lot of interviews with musicians and hell, just regular people from the time period will say stuff like "he turned me on to this whole new thing".
Plus, you know, things like electronics.

Huh, always thought that was Carl
Smile era was clearly Brians creative peak. People like to think this is the period when he was fucked up on drugs and unhappy but that isn't true. This whole group of people who worked on it were really close and had a great time, especially Brian. It was because of his father and Mike Love bashing him on his work that initially crushed him and led him to his path of darkness. Everything Brian did after SMiLE was uninspired shit churned out for money only.
>>63843137
wild honey, 20/20, sunflower etc were all mediocre typical pop albums without brian's charm,
unsurprisingly, the only tracks that stood out are the ones brian had influence over directly (all i wanna do, cabinessence, surfs up, etc)
