>be me
>make a remix
>post it on soundcloud
>soundcloud takes it down because of copyright
>"permission from record company required"
so, does this mean any random pleb who's ever made a remix has to send fan mail to the record company asking if its ok if I upload a remix for noncommercial use?
My best guess is that you used too much of the original song past the legal amount allowed for sampling, unless you actually have the original artist's legal permission

i only used the actual vocal parts. everything else i programed myself. i guess that qualifies though

Soundcloud is trying to compete with spotify now so that could be why

I've never used spotify. is it like a soundcloud where anyone can upload on to it? i thought it was like a pandora/last fm type site
>literally steal someone else's music without their permission
>it is taken down from a public sharing forum but you do not suffer any punitive measures
>feel self righteous about the experience

Just share it on Soulseek. Spam it in the chatrooms.

hey anon, how did you guess my exact feelings on this???
>>63769768
No it's just a streaming service

Did you have the original artists name and song title as the remix title? Sometimes it just takes down things based on their name

This.
Expect Soundcloud is trying to restrict who can upload to it, and are going to start monetizing it. They've already started with artists like the Weeknd.
