First thing I do when I wake up is listen to Paracletus. Then I have breakfast, bitter waters of course. After I drink I have my shower where I listen to Paralectus again. As a cleanser, I like to go for a run where I typically listen to a lighter album like Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice or even Infernal Battles. When I get back it's lunch time and I'll listen to Paracletus while my bitter waters quench my thirst. While I eat I like to enjoy a nice documentary, specifically one about Black Metal. Following that extended screen time I like to keep my mind sharp with some reading. So I'll read and interpret the lyrics to Paralectus, of course I have the album playing in the background so I'm 100% focused

By now my day is going pretty good and I usually want to share it with somebody else. So I'll call up some friends to hang out. We like to seek strength, justice and splendor together but mostly we listen to Paracletus. After we all listen to the album together in our listening circle we head back to my place for dinner where I serve up a some bitter waters to quench our first. Just for the sake of ambiance, I'll play Paracletus in the background. Dinner conversation tends to be lively as we each share our favorite moments from Paralectus.

My friends go home after this, as the fun as to stop somewhere. I'm only human so pardon me if this is graphic but I do enjoy a bit of masturbation before I sleep. I'm not really adventurous, I masturbate to vanilla, lesbian sex and oral (paraclitoris licking is my personal favorite) but mostly just the cover art of Paracletus. Following that I clean myself up and unwind with a bit of music; Paracletus being my favorite. That's when I hop into the shower for a brief and relaxing warmth, I'm pretty clean by now I just want to ease up my muscles. Then it's time for bed. Being something of an audiophile I like to listen to music while I sleep. After I hit play to start up the song 'Epiklesis' I I drift to sleep

this is where you're wrong. stop pretending that 80's metal was flourishing with incredible riffs. 90% were generic as fuck, just like today. there are more bands other than t.o.o.h. producing interesting metal nowadays, you're just to lazy to search for them.
>>
>>63758096
But you're saying that they all started independently without knowing each other, which is blatantly untrue. Scorn Defeat was published on Deathlike Silence, ffs.

A lot of first-wave bands in greece, brazil, and japan popped up at the same time, some even before other bands. there was literally no way for bands to be influenced by scenes that popped up in the same timespan from across the globe.. sabbat and gism predate sarcofago and poison (poison is hardly even first-wave, more like black thrash) by the way, the gook first-wave scene grew mostly from their love of early thrash and venom rather than being influenced by other first-wave scenes.

I do. Doesn't make Electric Wizard or Reverend Bizarre any less awesome.
>>
>>63758218
What black metal bands existed in Greece in 1985/86? Japan had a decent scene early, although still clearly influenced by the German scene. Why do you think it's impossible for bands to be influenced by each other around the globe within a single year? You're underestimating the power of zines and mail-order demo tapes.
>>
>>63758261

>I do. Doesn't make Electric Wizard or Reverend Bizarre any less awesome.
Fair point. Listen to some Trouble instead.
>>
>>63758271
I'm saying that it's impossible to be influenced by a scene if you were around before that scene.

i'll admit i'm a fucking poser when it comes to early greek black metal, but I presume they're far more influenced by the mid-80s german first-wave than they are brazilian bands like sarcofago.
>>
newfag here, whats a good starting album to get into Death?
>>
>>63758331
So what? Mid-80s German first-wave is still black metal as fuck. Destruction sounds more like actual black metal than early Sabbat does, for example, to say nothing of something like In the Sign of Evil.

Not him but I'll give you the gooks since the gook metal scene in the 80s is a lot less misinformed than western countries when it comes to what's new but it's fairly plausible that the Greeks got a hold of Sarcofago.

The gooks are an anomaly because their black metal scene formed independently from other first-wave black metal scenes, but it didn't just sprout up out of anywhere, a lot of early gook black metal is borderline crust.
>>
>>63758401
Greek BM is just a meme anyways. Bands like Varathron, Rotting Christ, etc were basically just trad/power metal with kvlt sound and harsh vocals.

What's the problem? I can name as many if not more mind-blowing tech death bands as tech thrash which is understandable considering tech death is very over-saturated and there's way more bands than tech thrash, so it's average quality is arguably lower than tech-thrash

i wrote a small review of it:
The thing that makes this album even more weird is that it is by James Ferraro, which has indeed mad some quite weird albums but his most well known album by far is Far Side Virtual, which is the EXACT opposite of this album: while Far Side Virtual was incredibly clean and utopian, to an almost uncanny valley level, this paints an incredibly dark, infernal, depressive and outright drugged up painting of New York City, it just feels dirty.

The tracks are all crushingly and hopelessly minimalistic (very fitting to the cover, might i add) and sometime outright atonal, what passes for lyrics are things like the work ''Money'' or ''Nigga'' being repeated ad nauseam, there's field recordings of police shouting and sirens and the like, there's lots of text to speech voices to give it all an hair of apathy and inhumanity and it samples things like the movie American Psycho and my very favorite Taxi Driver and even the fucking 9/11 attacks .

The whole thing feels like walking through NYC on sleeping pills, during a particularly bad night, about to get robbed by some random thugs.

TL;DR it's a decent vaporwave-ish dark ambient album disguising as a alternative R&B album that has a truly hell-ish atmosphere despite being very much rooted in reality

and yeah, you need to listen to it at night, a theme that's common in a lot of my favorite ambient albums

I'm from NYC so I guess there's probably everything, however the part I'm from this one friend of mine is running a house venue and generally hosts a lot of thrash bands but also hosts a lot of death and black metal bands as well.
