lauren's a smart and ambitious girl with an ear for catchy tunes and an eye for poetry, and desu its almost a shame she's cute b/c if she wasn't, she wouldn't be made a target by guys who cry about feminism ruining their lives
chrvches as a whole makes very good synthpop. one of the best groups in the genre today imo. consistent jams and good production, but they need work on what makes an album great b/c so far all they have is singles
I think her and her band deserve the dubious distinction of being literally the only bad pop act to come out of Glasgow.

Alright, Paramore played their first warped tour shows back when they had just released "All is falling. One of the shows they played was in VA Beach, I went. It was cool and at one time, me and my brother ran into some girl. She was short, had red hair, and had a really bubbly attitude. This wasn't new at the time, since girls always acted like this at the time.
The girl told me and my brother to check out her band(at the time I knew people tried to shill their bands at warped, and had not one idea that they were on the bill). My brother was interested and talked to her, she hands us this paper that her band was playing soon and wanted us to check it out. He agreed, and being the try hard hot topic wanna be scene kid at the time I ignored her.
She handed one to me and said to check them out, and that she'd be happy if we did. I took it, laughed and said "sure I'll throw this away for you" and walked off laughing. After some ska-like band, Paramore comes on. She sings and moves around the stage, sees me in the front row, and flicks me off. I felt like an asshole because the whole crowd saw it.

I love the octave effect that's thrown on "Get Away'' - cool song. Kind of a shame that that vocal effect is only used in the verses and is then discarded for the rest of the song, which happens to be repeats of the chorus.
I actually dig the band, High Enough To Carry You Over is one of my favorite tracks on the latest album. Shit's catchy.
The problem i'm noticing is that they follow the same structure. There is almost always a solo section where the chorus dies down for a few bars - there will either be silence or a little sung melody over it.
In every song.
Still like the group, think the songs are fun to listen to but, if they could expand and try a longer bridge every now and then, maybe get a bit more ambitious with their structures in general, i'd be a bit more satisfied.
I think this is possible as well, but it's probably going to take getting a live rhythm section.
If they could jam their songs with a backing band they could probably more organically add to the songs.
