can you guys give me some good recs on metal albums that sound as dirty, slow and generally fucked as Dopethrone? I've yet to hear such an album.

dopethrone does have the dirtiest tone and will be unrivaled. as far as composition goes i think sleep's holy mountain is as good as it gets as well. but really though how great is high on fire

I actually find Dopesmoker to be really uplifting in a way. It feels like a grand ritual chant or a hymn. It's definitely just as slow and heavy as Dopethrone but I wouldn't actually call it dirty that much at all.

Dusty is a good word for it. But underneath that dust there's some real uplifting shine to it. I read some thing where someone described it as like taking bong rips in the middle of a ripping sandstorm. Metal reviews always have the best wording.
