They decided to make another album.
That's about it really, it's their most personal and a bit more straightforward than Ænima and Lateralus but soundwise it's nothing new. They had taken a big step forward from Opiate with Undertow, another big one with Ænima, Lateralus had a more peaceful and esoteric feel with great long instrumental tracks, but 10,000 Days is just "typical Tool". Solid though.

I feel like the only person to absolutely hate "The Pot". Its unnecessarily over played by all these shit heads like "DUDE LMAO, WEED TOOL". Despite that song, the album is pretty good. I prefer Wings for Marie pt.2
