It was an album from a band featuring Avey, Angel Deradoorian and Jeremy Hyman (who's playing drums with AnCo on next tour).
Honestly, I thought it was the best album of the year in 2014. Great tracks, which were fun as fuck, as well as musically and melodically interesting. Definitely check it out

I'm not an AnCo fan and I didn't really enjoy the album that much but that is the perfect response to the review. The review itself was poorly written and didn't really talk about the album besides saying 'the magic isn't there anymore'.
I'm also in agreeance with people in this thread saying that the last paragraph was stupid in almost berating them for becoming parents. Not cool.

He's seriously such a nice guy.
I dunno, maybe it's hard for them to translate that "magic" into their music or maybe people just aren't perceiving it, but when I met him after a PBear concert he seemed really excited about the creation of the new album (of course he was being very vague). He clearly still has passion for it, so it's unfair or presumptive for all these reviewers to say they're just going through the motions. I just hope maybe that passion permeates a tad more on their next venture. I do still like PW for what it is, though.
