Sorry there's been some confusion, I want to make it clear that this album is quite good, actually. Sure, Fantano and Pitchfork will pan it, but don't let that confuse you. Also, I want to talk a bit about their previous album, Centipede Hz. A lot of people say /mu/ gives it a lot of shit, but it's not a bad album either; Painting With should make you appreciate just how dynamic it was in comparison. I have zero emotional connection or investment in Animal Collective and I can tell you this album is really, really bad. Like 4/10 bad. It's not impossible to dislike PW, it's actually rather easy. I don't care about being a contrarian or a hypebeast, I just listen to music and didn't like it.
