Did you like the direction they took from Public Strain to Viet Cong?
I really loved the Viet Cong album and i think it's very underrated in this board, i feel like only Public Strain is the one getting all the praise.
At least that's the impression i was getting, fix me if i'm wrong. in RYM for example both of them are being highly appriciated

They hadn't congealed their influences yet. It sounds like the Beach Boys and This Heat were booked at the recording studio at the same time and decided to just record together. It's very good but it's a bit schizophenic.
I like the Viet Cong album, but I would still like to hear another Women album as well.

Public Strain is a one of a kind album. I'm glad they didn't try to replicate that magic because I think they would have failed. That being said, their new sound is very good too. It's forward thinking, and distances itself from the many post-punk stereotypes. Feels like a rock album from the future. I got the pleasure of seeing them live last year (the day before they announced their name change) and they were so fucking good. One of the most energetic shows I've been to.
