I think mental illness and metal kind of go hand in hand, not in the sense that like, people who listen to metal suffer from mental illnesses, but that a lot of metal deals with feelings of isolation and 'otherness' which causes a lot of people with mental illness to both be involved in metal, and create metal, think of how many metal bands have written songs about fucking like, being in mental institutions, or being crazy as fuck.
