(not true by the way)
Listen to things like Endless Summer and Spirit of America to get a good idea of their early singles and then listen to Pet Sounds. If you listen to Pet Sounds and like it, try Smile. You might not get it the first time but give it a second or 3rd try

No. Today! is their third best album and All Summer Long is great.
>Shit Tier:
>everything after that
Love You is fantastic.

Almost everything they made from 1964 to 1971 is worth listening to. Their only good post-1971 album is Love You.

Not really worth it. Listen to Endless Summer first to get an overview of their greatest pre-experimentation hits so you have an idea of what the Beach Boys were like going into Pet Sounds. Then listen to Pet Sounds. Then listen to the Smile Sessions, which is a best approximation of what Smile then listen to Brian Wilson presents Smile. After many months have passed and you finally feel bored with Smile, listen to Surf's Up.

>which is a best approximation of what Smile
Meant to delete this. Ignore it.

what about Holland? I heard it's good.
Everything from their first album to Holland is mandatory. Anything after that just shows you're a die hard fan.
