right fellas, forget the shit soundcloud threads your used to, this is a whole new set up.

RULES:
>post your link, genre etc. WITH FEEDBACK TO (AT LEAST) THE LATEST 2 POSTS WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE THREAD! - and then whoever else you feel like doing of course.
>PLEASE PUT YOUR FEEDBACK IN YOUR ORIGINAL POST SO WE KNOW YOU ARE PARTICIPATING - or if you really dont want to, at least let us know your sweet, sweet feedback is on the way in that original post.
>RECCS DO NOT FUCKING COUNT - recc if u want but it isnt a substitute for feedback.
>DONT BE LAZY - 2 words like 'chill af' is not feedback, if you cant fault it, let 'em know what in your opinion makes it dope!
>IGNORE PEOPLE WHO FLAUT THE RULES - these only work if everyone ignores the chumps who dont read this and just post their link then fuck off.

thats it really its not much to stick to and it seemed to work great yesterday. several people commented how it was the best/most constructive thread in ages, and i agree.

same as last time, im gunna wait till it kicks off a bit then pop my link and feedback up.

im sorry i called some of you out last time (sometimes prematurely) but it seemed to work with getting freeloaders ignored. if i do jump the gun and call you a cunt when you dont deserve it then you will recieve a full apology.

thats all, lets have as fruitful a thread as the last one!

yogurt: You seem to have a natural sense for synth work, and I definitely agree that these ideas should be expanded beyond what they currently are.
Although I enjoy your other stuff as well, I feel some of it lacks direction and variety. If you threw some curveballs in the song structure, this could be great

op is a butthurt fag that gets mad his musics shit and no one cares about it so he has to make these threads to feel good about himself

soundcloud threads with bs rules like this just end up hurting the people who work hard at making good music and reward memes and noobs who don't know what they're doing

soundcloud threads are about giving and receiving feedback on SOUNDCLOUD
finding people you like collabing etc

if you're any good you'll get feedback from a regular soundcloud thread

no one wants to help noobs and rightfully so. there's literally thousands of resources i mean it's the fucking internet they don't need to come here and take up time and space from people who make decent music
lets be honest soundcloud threads are a promotional tool if you want tips on how to improve your shit fucking noob tracks then go to production general you fucking cunts

what planet are you on m8? thats literally never been how soundcloud threads work. its usually just people self-promoting then fucking off with a few reccs at best. why are you so opposed to this? i guess u must just be one of the lazy shit heads. also in terms of being butthurt considering you have no idea who i am, i actually do ok in these threads in terms of plays etc. but just felt they lacked any sense of people helping each other with feedback etc. like they used to. anyway if you dont like it then fuck off to the shitty SC thread fuccboi
>>
>>60898530
Honestly I like these rules. Otherwise, all I get (or really all anyone gets) is a bunch of recommendations and maybe once in a blue moon a tiny tidbit of feedback, and then we all creatively stagnate and can't grow and improve. The last thread was incredibly productive and the main issue was not the rules but the people who complained about them, and this ensures that everyone can receive attention and feedback, and not just those that post first/the most popular posters

I don't know, maybe that's just me. It's possible that I'm wrong

if you want an help go to production general

no one gives actual helpful honest opinions on these threads they just give lazy fucking "oh yeah shit was dope just maybe do this" translated to "i listened to your stupid fucking song now listen to mine, cunt"

it's pointless
it serves the exact same purpose as soundcloud threads without these rules just the people that benefit are noobs and memes and not veteran producers who make good music

This will rustle some jimmies but if all you have on you SC page is some remixes or some chopped / screwed shit of some original artists work then I don't even bother listening. Rearranging somebody else's track like it's a god-fucked Quentin Tarrantino movie IS NOT creating music. I know some of you actually create your own shit AND do remixes. If I'm on a page like that I usually scroll through and listen to the original work while ignoring the remixed shit. I just don't give a fist fuck for someone who cannot even try to make their own shit. There are too many artists on here who actually do create original tracks. I would rather listen to them than to waste my time on wastes of time. I don't give a fuck what you think about it. I don't care if your hemorrhoids start bleeding or your shingles flare up or even if you get cancer from reading this. In fact for those of you this applies to I hope you get mad as fuck. I always give honest feedback to people. I love going through these threads and finding/listening to great musicians, and I feel that feedback can help maintain that steady stream of talented musicians.
When I started, I completely sucked, and I still do, but without criticism from fellow musicians I never would have gotten anywhere. It's invaluable, especially to someone just starting out. It takes you 2-3 minutes to listen to a song and give feedback, but it can mean the world to someone else.

So, be a little considerate.
>>
>>60898591
if not getting feedback on a 4chan thread means that you creatively stagnate you're not going to last long in this production game m8

who gives a fuck about feedback in the thread
it doesn't mean shit
it's just someone who wants you to know they listened to your music without having to sacrifice their ego and help out your soundcloud or someone reminding you that they followed or liked something on your soundcloud and you didn't return the favor

stop being so bitter and fuck off. the point is these 'noobs' your so opposed to helping may have the potential to be excellent with the help of others in these threads. i know people have suggested things in the past that have helped me improve and i know use as a big part of my general workflow. i literally dont know why your so opposed to this? isnt soundcloud there for leaving feedback on soundcloud? ever thought that maybe you might not want to actually write a load of shit about compression/eq techniques as a comment on their tracl. ever thought its slightly easier to discuss/reply to advice/ideas on here.

essentially just participate or stop crying and fuck off, do you literally have nothing better to do than whine like a little girl at a thread you dont approve of.

>>60898770

soundcloud threads are cluttered enough as it is

But when the household names are the only ones who get any attention it makes these threads empty and hollow.
I mean, even as one of the "main" posters, whole weeks can pass before I get a follow or a comment or anything. I like to think my music is halfway close to being alright, but it's nothing compared to some of the stuff I've heard here, by people with far fewer followers and recs. When you ignore those people and just post your link, or rec one or two pre-set profiles, possibly talented musicians may become disheartened and leave.

I don't know, just my two cents

its not always shit that boils down to i listened to you now listen back, i tell people/have been told by people actual constructive things, ie. issues with the mix and how to correct them. i have told several 'noobs that dont know abour parallel compression' about parallel compression (saw that first post before the cheeky delete you cheeky blighter), and other things that i have picked up until eventually with the help of this thread will no longer be 'noobs' but credible artists whos music we can all enjoy. with out meaning to sound like a cunt i think i make ok shit, not incredible but i know what im doing to an extent but even people with less technical knowledge/the same can help by saying how they might improve the structure or another layer of percussion they might consider to add something to a section for example. the point is noones opinion is invalid and without meaning to sound like a cunt again we really can all learn something from each other and im just trying to encourage this dynamic. as ive said if your really opposed make a rival SC thread where NO feedback is allowed and see how great that is, but me n other people actually like hearing other peoples opinions in these threads.

soooo.. how do you fags plan to enforce rules on a peruvian bucket groove image board? just post your fucking music, give feedback if you feel like it, on SC on 4chan it doesn't fucking matter damn people. Some days I'm busy at work, so i post my music and just respond to what people say. Some days i'm not so busy so i will go through the thread and give feedback to every single person. there will be other soundcloud threads anons. there's like 10 of them a day. and in half of those threads there's someone bitching about feedback. here's a tip: if you go give some, YOU'LL PROBABLY GET SOME BACK. Those of you pushing these rules about how you HAVE to give feedback before posting.. i can only assume you say this because you haven't gotten any feedback yourselves (and this probably means you haven't been giving it either) or your shit just sucks so bad you need to keep working on it a little. Whoever says these threads are promo is stupid. I feel like most people come here to get opinions from like minded individuals on the quality of their sounds. fuck
>>
>>60899017
ok so i listened to ur shit, it was pretty weird but thats a good start for me. as for what advice i can give, i think the mix is very high end heavy, theres hardly any bass on my speakers which are fairly bassy. try cutting some frequencies on EVERY CHANNEL! boost the hell out of a frequency then move the frequency around on your EQ until you here a piercing/jarring sound then cut that frecuency. also that little drum loop thing is nice but think about layering some drum hits (kicks, snares etc.) on top that have are punchier because the loop on its own is a little weak. also try adding reverb/delay to add some atmosphere. THATS WHERE ID START ANYWAY. I HOPE THIS HELPS!

>>
We already have a platform for giving feedback. It's called Soundcloud. Forced contributions make more sense on Bandcamp threads, but no sense on SC ones. Just post your music and connect with other people. If someone wants to comment, they will.
>>
>>60899468
look m8 im fed up of bunning people on the internet today. just try your best to give feedback, if you explain your at work and will do some later, and then do it thats cool, but im just trying to encourage more listening for the sake of everyone. the current threads are just a cringe inducing cloy for attention from everyone while trying to get away with listening to as few as possible. My point is theres no harm in encouraging this as a standard and if you disagree that much just ignore me but plenty of people got into it in the last thread and said they thought it was the best in ages and i agree. the point is i cant force you but i want to encorage more listening and construcitve in these threads, deal with it.
>>60899549
stupid arguement. what does 'caring about your art' have to do with wanting advice on how you could improve your work. the whole point is im trying to make these threads less vapid and just 'check muh sowndclowd' and more somewhere where people ctually come and listen and talk about making music.

>>60899528
look m8 your just repeating yourself. the point is noone gives a fuck about your SC thread ethos, pretty much everyone agrees with me. start your anti feedback promo only thread if you give this many fucks.

>>
>>60899710
m8 ur not as deep as u think, i get it, but my point is these threads are too much about a cry for attention atm not actually caring about and wanting to improve your art. im not looking for gratification, i would genuinely someone pointed out its flaws land tell me how they think think i could improve my shit while and people anybody just listening to/enjoying my music is a bonus.

>>60899768
but threads literally used to work the way in which im talking about ie. most people would leave feed back to a couple WITH their original post pretty much as standard (no cluttering, its the same amount of posts) and im sure everyone whos been here for 6+ months will agree. i dont like the rules either but these threads have become so pointless compared with how they used to be.

This is some really great post-punk jangle-pop. sounds a bit like felt and that factory records era, but also very immediate and instrumental, not using too much electronics, definitely check this out.

>>60899448
really good variety and each part of the group seems to stand on its own, low quality on some of the tracks but it didn't bother me, seemed to require loft production in parts. interesting

>>60898761

If you don't care about your art... to the very core of your being(As cliche as it sounds, but that is the best description) then you are just pollution. Some of us destroy our chance at white collar or comfortable lives in an effort for our art and someone like you is a disgrace to the name.
>>
>>60899834
appeals to tradition, eh?

they're not pointless because the point of these threads is to get and give likes/follows/comments/feedback on soundcloud which idk about you but is still working out pretty well for me

first of all love your delay use in going nowhere! really has a nice atmosphere especially on the shakers/wodblock thing in the intro. cool synth that comes in at 2 mins ish. my onlyadvice would be maybe the kick is a little mid rangey for me and the claps a little too bright, but all very minor and fairly personal i would of thought, but great job tho bruh really nice track!

thanks for the feedback man (wryythe). weakness is awesome, love the use of reverb and the percussion at the start. I'd suggest boosting the kicks a bit or even just sidechaining the melodies with the kick. super nice vibe overall
>>
>>60900800
Thanks man. Honestly I felt like the snare to hard in the beginning bit. The main reason I didn't sidechain much at all (with the kicks on the melody) was because all the plucks were on beat (for the most part), and i wanted to have the full muted pluck sound.

I'll take a guess: he posted a shit track in some other thread. While the readers of that thread either found his track totally unremarkable or unlistenable their parents had taught them "if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all". Unfortunately this didn't occur to him and he thought that the only possible reason why he didn't get showered with praise is due to the selfishness of other posters.

Well, thats my theory anyway.

Yes, we know that the recordings sucks, I only have a Roland-05 recorder, and he only has a phone and macbook. I'm going to Mexico to record all the vocals in a studio and then mix everything as well. I personally hate what I did on Harmed and Damaged [second half of The Arctic King], plus it's lacking certain lines and some screams. I had only one opportunity to record those vocals here at home.
The mixes aren't that great either, because he mixed it without having proper equipment, that's why they're all demos.
Thanks though.
