Whether I've been to Bargain (I haven't) is completely irrelevant. I have a lot of OT releases and I listen to the odd berghain mix so I have a pretty good idea of the aesthetic they go after.
Part of the problem is that 90% of edgy technofags in /bleep/ who aren't familiar with trance think trance is Dj Tiesto, Anjunabeats, the list goes on, when that couldn't be farther from the tunes I'm referring to. "Trance" is a really stupid name too, there's too many sounds and aesthetics that fit under it, so its meaningless. Uplifting trance? prog trance? prog house/trance? balearic? old school? etc etc
I don't really discuss all of the above because I like seeing the No Fun Allowed spergs thinking they're so cool by dissing trance while they couldn't name any trance tunes outside of van buuren or tiesto lmfao

Fog Area Records seems to have been a big deal in late 90s Germany, they have 80 releases, disregarding their more obscure subdivisions Roca and Alaska Deep and Nothing Records and whatever else there is.

I've been really into vintage house music lately. Interesting stuff.
A lot of the 80's house is chock full of imperfections, off-key notes and just odd synth choices. It's all about the beat and keeping the house going.
The lyrics are just nonsense but something about it just works. House music and electronic music in general just seems to have come out of nowhere and it's neat actually seeing the through line between disco and house.
Any other vintage electronic records I need to listen to? Dance preferred, but I'll take anything electronic and old.
