Young Fathers are fucking incredible. Disgrace that they're so overlooked.
>>60603580
>Young Fathers
holy damn this, saw them in October, they're phenomenal.

The Cramps Live at Napa State Mental Hospital
>>60603598
I still need to see them, so annoying that they're only really playing support gigs right now.
>>60603605
mmh. their show in tokyo during the VLV tour is up there with the concerts I would've wanted to see the most
>>60603596
Totally agree. They are definitely my best discovery of the year, couldn't believe I never heard them before. Their sound is everything that's good about contemporary music, but it seems nobody cares.
>>60603596
>>60603611
>>60603619
I spoke to Kayus (little black guy with a nose ring) after the show. It was cool, we spoke about immigration, racism, etc. Btw they're gonna record a new album "when they can rest a bit", so i think it's going to be late 2016/ early 2017.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6uzUhiyLFM
Nick Cave is THE fucking guy i wanna see live.
Btw seeing him play guitar is somehow disturbing.
>>60603635
Good news. Their next release will be one of my most anticipated. I hope they further explore the indie pop sound they went with on White Men are Black Men Too, but could see them going in any kind of direction. I'll have to make sure to catch their show next time they're in my city because I always hear how incredible they are live whenever they are brought up.

Could be a while :(
You watched 20000 Days on Earth? Some pretty cool performances in that.
>>60603647
>half of the crowd not enjoying it
fuck i swear Glasto is full of plebs
>>60603678
yeah i watched it, fucking great tho there's a lot of wankery about himself.
I wish he could make a studio album soon, it's been a while now and i think he doesn't want it anymore because of, huh. He used to make an album every two years...
>>60603701
I didn't mind the wankery, he has enough charisma to pull it off and most of it was funny.
If he gets round to making an album it's going to be a tough one.

Could we get the shot the cameraman is filming there?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fuuDg1HOoE
>>60609939
I think not. Most festivals are filmed and the recordings aren't available. But if you want some good video recordings with St. Vincent wearing that catsuit, find the streams Outside Lands Festival 2015 & Open'er Festival 2015. They're on Dimeadozen I guess.
Another one, T in the Park 2015, is available on Rutracker: http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5047637
Why she's so awesome?
>But the real weeping took place during St. Vincent’s set. Make no mistake: She’s the real deal. Even with her robotic grandfather clock head and body contorting, she’s imperiously poised and backed by an outstanding band that brought out the absolute best in her. She was a vision in a black leather getup, like Mystique from X-Men.
>What the star has accomplished at the intersection of avant-garde and pop, she conveyed with power and authority. It was an evolutionary performance to witness, a mammoth 12-song set with three encores.
>The crowd grew wobble-eyed as Annie Clark charged through the narrow barricaded pathway, shoving the cameraman out of the way to man the machine herself, only to ride a burly Polish bouncer back to land.
>There’s something in the way she mixed anthemic songs with utter primal abandon. We saw her lying down on a hospital bed singing “The Party”, and at one point she maneuvered to the front of the stage, back plastered to the floor, legs spread wide, and fired her pelvis toward the ceiling, eyes still fixed on the audience, like a spider after falling into a vat of poison.
>I had forgotten what this kind of live experience could do, and witnessing her helped me remember. St. Vincent revived the need for us to speak our minds and stand up for our own identities in these terrifyingly cluttered times.

I like the performance and the atmosphere but in terms of songwriting this is cookie-cutter radio pop of the over-emotional, vaguely story-telling sort that is popular. They're not to be given the title of being a "rock band" but once you get over that you can start to appraise them more level-headedly, as it takes skill to write songs that have such a secure claim on radio popularity.
