The Kinks are fucking underrated as far as big British Invasion bands go, and that 5 album run beginning with Face to Face is incredible, but they are NOT better than the Beatles, m8.

I agree, but besides Pet Sounds and Smile their discography isn't too impressive. Surfin' USA is alright and I like Surf's Up a lot, but they're nowhere near as significant.

It is a talent, but then the songs lack depth and you can't listen to them 1000 times like you can with King Crimson.
How are we going to measure the greatness of a band? We must decide whether having digestible, fun tracks is better than having rich and full tracks with many ideas instead of just one or two ideas.
