80's

1270s we're a fucking dark time for music

The 80s were the worst for everything
>>
>>60399070
They were sex bombs
>>
>>60399026
There was a lot dudeweedlmao dad rock in the 70s, but there was some decent stuff there.

The 80s had fuck all for good music. Electronic and rap music was in its infancy and wouldn't begin to mature and get good until the 90s for either, rock was washed up and reduced to 'arena ballad' buttrock. Pop music was the same lcd aging like milk bullshit it always was.

the worst were the 60s

>no electronic (except pretentious academic noise)
>no dance music
>macho, riffs-based rock

Nothing is better

agreed frogfriend 60s were trash
>>
>>60399306
True but negated by hair metal
>>

>>
00s, no question about it.

>Nu Metal was at its peak in the early part of the decade.
>"Champagne Rap" (rap about going to the clubs and "making it rain") was the dominant hip-hop form for most of the decade.
>Pop was more manufactured than ever before, drenched in autotune and over-production (which is almost impossible for pop, but it happened). "I Kissed A Girl" was arguably the pop anthem of the decade.
>Youtube stars turning into pop icons (Bieber, etc)
>Boy Bands became arguably worse.
>The "Indie" and electronic scenes all featured derivative stuff done better in the 80's and 90's (I don't speak absolutely, since there are a few diamonds in the rough there).

The only scene that really grew and "improved" during this time was alternative hip hop, since the overall scene was pretty small in the 80's and 90's.

70s > 60s > 2010s = 90s > 80s > 2000s

Who? Don't spew out garbage like Jimmy Barnes either.
>>
>>60399948
Shit, nu-metal fans are now old enough to be able to post here.
>>
>>60399930
They look rich, extravagant and rebellious at the same time, like barbarian princes from the future.

what's not to like?
>>
>>60399927
>>60399991
>Nu Metal
Deftones are god tier. SOAD too. Slipknot had some alright stuff depending on your tastes whether you want to call it "angsty" or not.
>>
>>60399995
Yeah, I mean, I don't see the appeal for music, but sex appeal I do.
>>
>>60400046
the music is groovy, catchy, sounds decadent and wild, that's appealing.
>>
Didn't like the 90's.
>>
>>60400069
Which bands are you talking about in particular?
>>
>>60399927

Oh, and I forgot about such garbage as this "Scene" scene.

Falling in Reverse, Brokencyde, Blood on the Dance Floor, Jeffree Star. etc.

That shit is infinite levels worse than any hair metal band (most of which actually had competent musicianship) you can name.

Only in the social media era could such shit bubble up to the surface.
>>
>>60400127
>Falling In Reverse
I hate to admit I was ever a fan of their music. And I was 19 at the time. I'm 21 now...
>>
>>60400003
Those are exceptions, though.
>>
>>60400091
Fantano pls go
>>
>>60400159
Yeah I guess. I feel like every generation has it's taste of shit music. There are always going to be amazing artists throughout every decade just like there are going to be bad ones.
>>
80s is the patrician decade
>>
I'm waiting for the day when the nostalgia for the 2000's reaches critical levels here. I feel it happening soon.

On that note, it's actually pretty funny looking at the culture of the 2000s. It's become so corny to me. Just watched Saw for the first time last night, and all the quick cuts, old cell phones, kind of weird lighting and generic techno soundtrack felt like a blast from the past.
>>
>>60399383
Those are literally all good things
>>
70s were terrible
>>
>>60399967
The Go-Betweens
Midnight Oil
The Reels
Split Enz
The Church
Hunters & Collectors
The Scientists

And a fair few others I'm forgetting all had decent albums in the 80s.

Its kind of funny how short people's collective memories are when they complain about the "pussification" of society today, when dressing like a street whore was the hottest thing for men to do 30 years ago
>>
>>60399273
I think you missed the joke man.
>>
>>60403397
except those glam metal guys who dressed like that fucked tons of groupies, and they always had very sexual personalities. stereotypical men today aren't sexual, and they tend to have self-deprecating and awkward personalities rather than masculine or confident. at least this is true for 20-something white guys. holy shit i just got a type captcha instead of a pick out street signs one
