What is /mu/'s opinion on The Knife?
Silent Shout is the only worthwhile record imo
I KEEP MY DICK HANGING OUT OF MY PANTS

one of my favourite bands since 2006 desu
>>60304094
silent shout is their best. was ahead of its time really
Deep Cuts is their best album

fucking entrancing
>>60304094
When they're good they're really good when they're bad they're really bad. They also have the tendency to sabotage their own albums with dubious songs. Silent Shout is their only solid album, the other ones are patchy and even awful (STH).
c u ck

I really like STH, it's exaclt what I expected from them and more, I was disappointed at first though so I kinda get your feeling
Agree with the rest of your post, and I say this as a die hard fan, but this patchiness is part of their charm if you ask me desu
>>60304094
I fucking think they suck
>>60304094
usually the title track is the only good track in the album

STH would have been amazing if it was structured better.
expanding on the ambient ideals of old dreams and the rest of the weird tracks and fusing them with some more beat driven ideals like on a cherry on top or stay out here could have created a really amazing thing of duality where disc 1 was energetic and poppy with sinister tones before slowly melding into horrifying dark ambient with weird vocals.
instead we got 20 minutes of jack shit that broke up 2 tracks and discs that have no real separation in style. really just a product of poor planning.
it's a shame because they're shown they can do shit like that well before with that tomorrow in a year thing.
Silent Shout>Deep Cuts>Shaking the Habitual
None of the other albums matter though

Also I think that Fever Ray's album is very close to Silent Shout's level.
They released the most pretentious electronic album of all time
>>60304303
STH needed some heavy editing. Too bad that they didn't manage to make it a 40-45 min album with the best bits and devoid of filler.
>>60304323
not a huge fever ray fan, I like it a lot but it's consistently dark, whereas the knife's stuff has some weird hectic elements
fuck me I can't explain for shit
>>60304325
I usually pretend that doesn't exist, might give it another listen after 3 years
