The kind of Darkthrone worship I don't care too much for, where they just go for the hypnotic two-note tremolo passages for 5 minutes. I like my Darkthrone worship to also throw some of their punky style into the mix as well. They also throw in some mutiilation-y flare sometimes into a melody here and there. It's not "bad" but overall no melody or passage really grab my attention too much. Goat - Creative Alienation was interesting and a break nice break of pace but it got a bit redundant, perhaps. The last track was the better track, I felt.

I wouldn't call Fist riff-based in my opinion unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean. And I don't think it's too much a far fetched idea with tracks like Doll of Darkness being straight Tranny Hunger worship. Overall yeah I wouldn't call them a Darkthrone carbon-copy or anything, they threw in some mutiilation-y melodic flare here and there as I said, and the doomy arpegiated sections were also good for breaking up the pace like on the last track. I only brought up Darkthrone worship because I felt they didn't bring too much on the table when they went into the really darkthrone inspired passages like basically all of Doll of Darkness.
I'll check out those albums though.

I have a suspicion that Pure Holocaust was. Every song is a bit sharper than they would sound played in E standard tuning. I opened Unsilent Storms in my DAW and slowed it down about 7%, and it sounds a lot more "realistic." However, even if PH is sped up, it adds to the unique character of the album.

Yeah I might be throwing darkthrone worship too loosely on Armagedda. But I like them for their UAFM riffy and punky flare they have. But I agree they rightfully surpass that label after their first album.

use a 4-track or whatever. Listen to some Paysage D'Hiver. There's no need for low end in there. but if you want bass, depending on how you record, get a digital octave pedal that tracks well OR get amplitube or some software with an octave pedal

inverted power chords. Not that you need a bass for black metal but if it really sounds shitty you can use an octave pedal or pitch shifter or 8 string guitar. In Reaper you can select a track and hit shift + 9 to lower a track's pitch one semitone or hit it 12 times to lower it an octave.

It depends on the release really. Dread Magnificence is pretty noisey, Eschalogical Scatology is more black metal.
De Magia Veterum is another project by Morries that is more black metal too but it's not at all conventional, then he has Pyriphlegethon which is much more conventional.
