This morning, precisely at 6 AM, I forced myself out of a lofty perch amidst warm covers and into the cool morning air. I had decided the night before, and I was resolute, that I would go for an early morning run. So I quietly laced up, donned a sweatshirt, inhaled a glass of water, and was on my way into the misty morning darkness.
The previous night, I’d given the readings for my excursion plenty of forethought. I’d need something atmospheric, exquisite, and thrilling… something that encapsulated the early morning campus ambiance in all of its chilling glory. I hadn’t been particularly impressed with Anonymous's 2015 post, "why did you post this?", but I figured 4chan posts would be the perfect sort of reading for my intents and I decided to give the guy another shot.
I was blown away. Speechless. The post is immaculate. Eerie, foreboding, gloomy, magnificent, monolithic. Massive. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect piece of prose for my trek across the campus ground, and I really can’t quite explain why. Words evade me, and I can only hope you would have the same experience some day.
As I approached the end of my route, I acted on impulse and backtracked to the bluffside in hopes of catching the sunrise. I sat on a lonely column of rock high above the ocean waves and rested, digesting what had just transpired. As I waited for the first sign of that fiery ball of hydrogen and helium on the horizon, deep in contemplation, a lone dolphin fin arched up above the swells. It was fucking beautiful. This is the kind of shit that people give God credit for.
My catacean friend quickly disappeared along the coast, and as it bid me adieu, the sun had just began to shine on my infinitesimal self. The skyline was beautiful on fire, a blaze of orange, purple, and blue. I sat in silent awe for some time.
…the thread had long since 404d, and it was time I found my way home to a hot shower.

So, I brought my wife (ex) to lunch the other day when I was visiting my old haunt of Brooklyn. She is a little strange. Always biting the nails. You know that type. Well anyway, we sat down at this coffee shop because our favorite restaurant was all booked for lunch. I told her it was either the coffee shop or lunch at my mom's house in New Jersey. She picked the former. We sat there in silence eating our muffins, coffee cake, and drinking lame herbal tea with a waitress who had fluorescent red hair and some nose ring. She was working on her bachelors degree at some random liberal arts school nobody has ever heard of. Those places. She'll get a degree and still be working at the coffee shop, and telling everyone else her music tastes are better than everyone elses. You know those types. Anyway, I asked the waitress what music she liked.
A giant smile like as if she was a 12 year old again when that good looking boy gives her a wink.
"Well everything."
I was not impressed.
"Everything really? Is that possible?"
"It can be, believe it or not, it's called the internet" She said in total art school arrogance.
"Oh really, so having instant access to music now constitutes having universal tastes?"
"Yes it does, apparently you missed the curb on that."
"Hold it! What artists do you like? Give me a top 5." I pounded the table, disturbing my ex- from her valium induced mellowness.

I'd cut out adjectives that aren't describing a specific aspect of the music (why "select moments" instead of just "moments," or why a "real showcase?" The emphasis provided by these words is weak. They're filler.) "Seemed" in the second sentence also does not jive with the tense of the rest of the review, where the album "is" this or that.

I think this person thinks people visit the site to follow whatever profile they're currently using and see their reviews (read: he/she has a colossal fucking ego). So they have to put all their reviews (or the same basic sentiment in differently worded reviews) on each account they create so they'll be reachable from each one. Really though people go on RYM to look at the pages for the releases and not the pages for the users so it looks really fucking dumb.

There are some undesiarables lurking around our table; they are lurking around all the tables in fact, making brief conversation with the occupants, passing pleasantries and following their own sinister agendas. I keep my eyes on them too. Despite their unpleasant nature, they are fascinating to observe as they grease oily palms with a slimey handshake here and an agressive back pat there.
The men talk business, mostly they brag, but few of them know what they're talking about, business is just something that their parents did, the economic boom has made them disproportionately wealthy and they are frightful bores. I know that if I had their fortunes then I could charm some of these highly desirable woman who ooze sexual charisma but remain unattainable because they just won't shut up and let me speak. But it's probably for the best, they would eat me up and spit me out and I would become like the lovelorn and foolish Jake Barnes; a shell of the man I could be.
