does anyone know how does Andy Stott gets his voices? are they sampled? are they "real singers"?
Where can I find the best drum sample packs?
How should I go about making my own drum sounds without any analog equipment?

Also can I convert WAV to FLAC without losing quality so I can reduce the filesize?

Did you read the manual of your DAW/Synths?
>>52638085
the blutty post office is charging you to hold a box? fuck that's UPS behavior right there. That's unfortunate anon, I was looking forward to seeing/hearing that beast! (I assume you are the anon who bought the TEAC reel-to-reel recently)
>>52641333
fuck off
>>52641357
Not at first. But I had to get used to reading through manuals when I got into more technical and scientific software. It was so fucking amazing going through the manual properly with some intimidating shit and actually becoming an expert because you took the time to really learn it.
Ever since then I've started going through the manual -page by page- of everything I own that's complicated. ProTools, Reason, my recorder, various softwares, etc. It makes you so much less plebiæn it's ridiculous.
>>52641357
Yes for DAW's
Not for synths
I'm just starting out.
If you could give yourself one tip, which you wish you knew before you started.... what would it be?
>>52641357
i'm going though a step by step tutorial for DAW
Yes for my midi keys.
>>52641613
At some point, you'll find that people with no knowledge about music making will praise your work. If you don't ignore them until you get the praise of fellow musicians/producers, you're not going to evolve well.
>>52641376
Yep. Still have to wait on the tape itself anyways, but you'll see it tomorrow.
>>52641613
make a habit of reading up on things you're interested in using, there may be hidden functions all around
you guys, does the type of audio stored on your average CD vary? I read that some store the music in WAV form and some in mp3, is there anyway to tell before I buy it?
>>52641875
please keep reading
also understand what you're sking, if I record an audio CD and my tracks are mp3, you'll be able to rip FLAC out of it, but it won't stop being mp3 quality
>>52641933
>please keep reading
reading what?
I will rephrase my question. How is the audio quality of CDs you buy from the likes of HMV and smaller local stores? Are the songs MP3 tier or wav tier in terms of fidelity?
>>52642011
how the fuck are we supposed to know
>>52642050
>how the fuck are we supposed to know
you don't buy CDs?
