As long as it bleeps or bloops it's welcome here, software and hardware welcome.
What's the best value for money, cheapest possible synth for bass synth?
My modular has its first module.
All I need now is the power harness and phase two will be complete.
For the curious:
Phase one: assemble case
Phase two: power supply (power supply, interface, cable harness)
Phase three: basic sounds (oscilator, amplifier)
Phase four: basic patching (multiples unit, envelope, filter)
Phase five: patching (second oscilator, second envelope, mixer)
That's just to get it to the point where it will be a usable instrument, I'm reserving space for a third oscilator, a noise unit, and a ring mod as a sort of phase six.

An older Bassstation (not the II, old ones go for $250), a Microbrute (I seen them as low as $200), or a Minibrute (first synth, a bit more versitile, got mine for $350 barely used)
>tfw love the sound of Yamaha CS synths
>tfw they're only $400 online
>tfw too much of a bitch to wait a month for one to ship from Japan
How do I into software

howd you build the case?
very very curious as to your methods as I really want to start building my own with mostly diy modules.

By some wood, take some measurements, cut some wood, finish it (stain, lots of high grit sandpaper and urethane), then assemble from the inside (I used 8 1.5" L brackets), mine also has little feet and a handle.
Idk what format you're using but I built mine to hold 16 MU (Moog, .com, etc) format modules.
>tfw no synth cat

man I'll have to figure it out but thanks for the help. How much was the power control and interface?
So I bought a Microkorg like a month ago, and I know they arent super well liked here, but whatever. Its pretty awesome, but I dont really get any sounds I enjoy or hear a lot in songs. Im trying to get synth sounds like Toro Y Moi, ot the synth in chamber of reflection by goofball. Also love the synths flylo uses. Any advice to let me achieve those sounds? thanks

I don't think I've seen anyone hating on them. If anything, they're really popular for digital.
