Not including any Jungle, Breakbeat Hardcore or any other breakbeats of any kind, this would be the top 10 D&B LPs of the year.

Xanadu - Through The Oort Clouds
Fanu - Polar
LOOH - THE LOOH ALBUM
Anile - Perspective
Etherwood - Blue Leaves
Reso - Ricochet
Biostacis - ReGeneration
A-Sides + Makoto - Aquarian Dreams
Ed Rush & Optical - No Cure
Phace - Shape The Random

>mfw this list
Yeah, Drum & Bass is actually dead now. 2015 was great for everything else though.
>>
Module Eight - Legacy
Bensley - Next Generation (that atonal synth in Nocturne wins everything)
VA - Illustrations

Listing best albums in a genre like dnb is kinda stupid though, there was a fuckton of singles and EPs that were as good as albums.

Yeah, the Xandau and Etherwood LPs were probably the best.

The London Elek album was surprisingly good, too.

To me it was kinda the opposite, every track from that album was such a huge fucking letdown. The only good tune from there could have been Drop Ship but for some reason LE decided to throw his whole hihat soundbank in there. Without them it would be one of my fav dnb tracks.
Urbandawn's EP is what Are We There Yet should have been.
>>
>>61320312
disagree completely
i thought AWTY was fantastic in that it kept surprising me with varied, textured tracks
compared to say blue leaves which sounded too homogenous after awhile if that makes sense
the cloudless EP was great but don't think it's what AWTY should have strove to be

also the new royalston album ripped
>>
>>61320544
Well, I may be a bit biased when it comes to this type of liquid (I don't know why, I just fucking despise it) and there are some cool tracks on AWTY, but I just absolutely hate how majority of this album is structured. Just something about those drops and vocals is putting me off a lot.
Blue Leaves is kinda the same as AWTY so I didn't really like it that much. I only have You'll Always Be A Part Of Me as a single and that one is just breathtaking.
Royalston's album was straight fire though, agree on that.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I quite like liquid, probably more than it deserves. Maybe it's partly a nostalgia factor because artists like Logistics and
Netsky
got me into the genre a few years back.

One LP that let me down was the Break LP.

I guess it wasn't really dnb but I enjoy the new Special Request EPs the most probably.

and in 2015 dnb continues to prove itself to be the most totally unremarkable dance music, down there with fucking trance.

the genre is a total dead end and it reached that point around the millennium, nowadays enjoyed solely by weird manchildren and pilly-willy'd CoD playing teenagers. i haven't met anyone at a club into dnb who didn't fit either of those stereotypes

you know the genre is in trouble when even ninj recognises this >>61317884

But that's jump-up. Almost every non-jump-up listener despises it
Also there are some remarkable tracks, but you won't find them in fucking jump-up labels catalogues.
I must admit though that for every cool tune being released there appear at least 30 totally uninspired pieces of shit. I'm yet to see another genre (different from dubstep and house) that has such high hit-to-shit ratio.
>>61321263
Nice meme, I totally love that chopped amen break with 808 bassline in every single fucking jungle track. Muh simplicity, haha!

Jungle lives.. somewhere...

Trick question!
There's only one DnB song.

They need to make an album..

It's the Reggae-Dub/D&B keeping me here in Bristol. Also, anyone hitting Mutiny in Bristol next month?

>>61322406
yep, that and muh atmosphere were the only good thing about breaks

kill yourself
>>
>>61322764
If you after Atmosphere there's still some good places outside of the WP/Fabric scene.

So far, 2011 are 2014 were the best years for D&B this decade (imo). 2015 was alright but I'm expecting 2016 to be much better. There were several disappointing albums this year.

>>61317884
Fanu is a definitive pick for me, but I would chose Strange Lights over Polar, which I thought was a bit rushed and not as inspired.

Anyway OP, Shape The Random is probably my AOTY pick, so go get that one.

>Geck-O - A New Wave
Not really hardstyle but props to you for choosing this album. It's a fucking masterpiece.
>>
>>61324577
Its exactly what hardstyle used to be like ~10 years ago, before the poppy nustyle cashcows ruined the genre
>>
>>61324764
I thought no one used this term in a derogatory way in 2015. Right now you've got raw hardstyle that is harder than most of millenial hardcore and ""nu-style"" that's still harder than early hardstyle.
And everyone on other forums calls A New Wave subground/qult, because it sounds like a house/hardstyle hybrid.
