Thanks. It's actually not as hard as many people claim, but it's not for everyone. I thought that I had blown my exams but one of the ones I was anticipating a fail on I got B so I don't know. It means I can focus on music while still being able to get a job

I moved up from ChCh after the 2011 earthquake so I've been here a while. It's nice because I go to gigs weekly, but outside of that the city loses any charm it had quickly. If I had the option I would have gone to Vic or Otago in a second, but they have shit all in terms of sciences (except Med), and I didn't really want to go back to Canterbury.

There was a punk house, but I think some indie kids took it over, not sure it they still have show (they had the Screaming Females once which was sick). You anons make me jealous. All i want is to form a post-rock/metal band that evolves with the times and do a bunch of side projects and vidya/film compositions on the side. The past year I've had 5 jobs and hated them all in the end and wishing that I could've endured college long enough to do private music lessons. The town I live in is literally shit and all the bands I've auditioned for gave me lots of praise but never talked or contacted me after the first rehersal. I'm too poor to do DAW things but I'm looking at joining an EMT academy. I like driving and I like helping people. Everything else infuriates me one way or another...even music. Music is a cruel succubus that I can't ever let go.

It's honestly difficult to catch up on enough programming basic to excel in pre-requisite classes needed for the CSE program. You basically have to be top 10% of those intro to CSE classes to be considered for admission (unless you're a woman, or black, 100% admission if both, I am not joking)
Don't get me wrong, there are some people who do that every year, they picked up the passion for it during college. But really, most of the CSE students started in high school, or at least did something technical before, and aren't really completely new to the idea of programming.
You can try different fields of engineering, if you're into that.
