Hey /mu/, I'm looking for a certain kind of music, I don't know if any of you know any bands that do this sort of stuff, but I'd appreciate any suggestions
The best example to what I'm looking for is essentially more of 0:52 - 1:34
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAVEtEm4rvY
Another good example would be the beginning of this song (up to 0:30)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcawnRIyeok
I can't really think of any other examples besides those two songs.
I guess what I'm looking is a sort of western inspired new age that really gives off a sense of discovery and adventure would be the best way to describe it.
Sun City Girls album "Funeral Mariachi" might be up your alley

thanks for the bump anon

Thanks for the suggestion, though it's more indie folk than I would like and going through their other songs I'm not finding much in what I'm looking for.

>master musicians of bukkake
This one is quite nice, some of their other songs are a bit more occult sounding than I would like, but still pretty good
>Grails
I can see why you recommended them, but it seems like they escalate past the point where I would want them to stay (like in the first song I linked) most of the time but some of their songs fit really well into what I'm looking for though, like Smokey Room, PTSD and especially Stray Dog.
I'll definitely go through both of these more in depth to find some other songs, thanks anon
Of course, still looking for more suggestions if anyone else has some to give.

>Space Cadet
This one is fantastic, I was worried when listening to it that vocals would come in and ruin it but they fit quite nicely. Going through their music though it seems like this is the case of a band doing a single song out of their norm that's incredible but then never do anything like it again. Shame.
Thank you.

I'll definitely have to go through Ennio Morricone's though I'm not under the impression I'll find much of what I'm looking for. I'll keep in mind to check out the soundtracks western movies in general as well (though like Morricone, I'm not sure I'll find what I want)
I was surprised to see you suggest Dire Straits, and going through the songs from that album, I'm not really finding anything
Boy & Bear has some instrumentals that I like (mostly the one from Fall At Your Feet), but I'm not really liking the vocals much. It feels like there's too much focus on them rather than the instruments.
Thanks for suggesting stuff though

Wouldn't have expected Starcraft to have some. Haven't checked any of the later games, but the beginning of Terran One is very in line with what I'm looking for, but unfortunately most everything past 0:35 is completely different and ruins it
Might see about cutting it up somehow.
Thanks.

One of the feelings I'm looking for from this kind of music is definitely in there but it's too harmonious for what I'm looking for.
The whole soundtrack sounds quite nice though and the premise for that film sounds quite interesting. I'll probably watch it sometime, so thank you.
>>66483165
yup, this is definitely in the line of music I was looking for.
Hole in the Heart is fantastic
It's a shame Slim Westerns II seems to sounds a lot more experimental and so kind of misses out on what I want
Thank you.

That Kyuss song is a bit too much modern sounding with the electric guitars
Far Away is great, forgot about that one. Will probably look into more of Jose Gonzalez's music
The Halo song kind of gives the right feel, but it doesn't have a western vibe at all
>>66484367
going through a couple of his albums it seems he's really within the spectrum of country music, which I like but it's not what I'm looking for.
>>66484518
a bit too rock themed for what I'm looking for unfortunately.
Too Many Chiefs seems to be closer to what I'm looking for so maybe there's a song or two of his that'll be good
