Sad to say, if you don't you'll probably be really lost.

It's not a standard prompt thread, this is one LONG, LONG, LOOOOONG continued story. I started on thread 1, and hasn't finished. It's got multiple writers with different stories and a huge load of characters, but no Anon at all, and only a barest miniscule of smut sequestered away in the After Dark pastebin, that's not canon.

It's well worth your time, it's one of the longest and craziest stories out there, 90 percent comedy but when we go big we go BIG on the action.

You should, bare minimum, read the first few threads in the pastebin, just to see if it's something you like. Like the anon above said, this isn't just a 'Hey anon I did a thing write some green with your self insert!' thread. There's Zero green faced people here, but an assload of interesting scenarios, stories, new foes and even a side arc with a guy on a pirate ship. Characters change, develop and grow, and some of them even get to fight giant monsters in the middle of the city.

Because they have all grown so much, it would be a little hard if you weren't caught up, especially right now as we're in the middle of an arc with a supersized Changeling villain fighting a magically powered giant mechamoth over Canterlot while a filly provides cover fire with a rocket launcher, but if you have any questions, shoot. If nothing else, the Timeline in the Wiki will help you out.

It started as just that, thread 1 was just random stories about AJ pointing out shit was wrong with Equestria that eventually started to get connected, and before you knew it we had a full continuity. Then after that we started building on the world, and characters, and growing and changing and it got all out of control.

No worries about how long it'll take to catch up, we'll still be here, and likely in the middle of yet another arc by the time you do. Who knows? Maybe you'll even get an idea for a full arc yourself.

It's worth it, man.

We do not need to undo over a hundred threads of bulidup, the cause of four major arcs, a well established villain role that perfectly contrasts AJ's and all of the personality and stuff we've built up that PD is capable of just to hype up a new villain, and especially not a changeling one. An earth pony foe based around science and industrialization is waaaaayyyyyyyy better a villain than that shit, period. The peach thing is cute but wow no.

Seeing Chitania attacked from all sides as she was, constantly covered by fire and smoke, was starting to get to her. Every missile, every magical burst, every cannon shell and bullet was finally starting to wear down on the Titan's power, making even her unbreakable hide show signs of damage beneath the blasts. The newest combatant had done a lot of damage with that little number she had unleashed, and it showed

She was stunned by how far they had gone, but was not surprised. They were planning to kill her now, actually trying to kill her.

Her plans had only just begun, the seeds barely even been planted yet. She couldn't let it all go to waste so easily, could she?

That and she admitted, at least some part of her did, that she still had to give the changeling what was promised. If nothing else, Chitania had kept her part of the deal, she would be remiss if she did not do the same.

So caught up in her plans, she hadn't even noticed another presence had been running towards her, instead of past her, until the other body brazenly tackled her to the side. She was hurled aside just before a chunk of a building could fall on her head. When her head stopped spinning enough she could see the crumbled bit, she felt a bit annoyed. It was no bigger than her hoof, and she doubted it would have done any more than a simple bump on the head.

It annoyed her, to the point she was considering blowing off the head of the one on top of her to chunks and blaming it on a stray stone. It was only when she recognized the voice that she stopped her magic.

"Do thou wish to be crushed so easily!? Really, if thine love is so low thou cannot dodge a simple falling stone then simply call to... do mine eyes deceive!?"

Newer, was how genuinely happy he sounded. So taken aback by it, the mare found herself speechless as he lifted her up.

It took her a second to recall it before she confirmed he was correct. What she could last remember was their time at Puerto Burro, when he had left unconscious.

The shock of his words took some time before they wore off, and the ringing in her ears stopped enough she could hear again.

His reasons seemed selfish, but she could not get past their sincerity to notice.

She felt alive again.

Whirring through the air, with the tickle of the cold wind on her coat and the pleasant hum off her one true weapon was a sensation she had been sorely missing this whole time. It was almost a comforting warmth that rolled off the jumpjets coming out of either side of her beloved TBDRLIATU, holding onto her like a partner should. They moved as one through the air, and together they unleashed the screech of rockets that bombarded the beast down below that desperately swiped at her.

It had been too long, she had been inactive far too much, she never realized how lacking she had felt inside, until now. Now, she felt alive.

Everything was perfect.

"Applejack is going to be quite irritated at you, you know."

Almost perfect.

PD isn't as likeable as our MC's, she just not stock by the numbers evil villain.

Stock evil only works if they're nothing more than a block in the way of the story. If you want to bring up some actual questions or moral quandaries or nuance to actions, you have to make them actually characters. Likes, dislikes, why they do stuff, what they wouldn't do, why they do it, how they got here and how they grow and change as the battle rages on.

That's only a 'proper' antagonist for a series that wants to unequivocally paint the heroes in the right all the time for what they do, unless what they do is against every other hero.

Pennydrop isn't good, or a noble person, or anything like that, but she laughs, she cries, we knows why she does what she does, her reasons are ones we understand and not "CUZ I'M EVOL!", and she develops as time goes on. You know, a proper antagonist to the MC, not just a dragon she has to slay in the castle.

There's also a secondary magical element to it, though, as ones like 42 have consumed higher levels of love than a normal Queen would store, yet remains not even partially ascended. In addition. We have regular evil because evil antagonists. We had Fawntaine/Antlers, Brahmos, and that one Camel slaver.

Then their story ended, and we kind of ignored them... because those characters are inherently uninteresting and you want to see less of them. It's just a flaw in the base idea. Evil to the core nasty people are people you don't want to see very much. You want to see them defeated and quickly, Our Heroes to be triumphant and knock them down, and then to forget they ever existed because you don't want to spend much time thinking about all the awful stuff they did.

We've had them, we've had multiple of them, but there's a reason you forgot about all of those. They're a bit... disposable

It was getting worse.

It had been so long since Chitania had felt a pain like this, she had all but blocked out any thought of it from her mind. She had all but forgotten how heavy her limbs could feel, the sensation that seemed like swimming though molasses as she walked. She was running low on power, low on strength, and it was only getting worse.

Her body was feeding on the very power that fueled it, the magic of Love, to try desperately to repair the damage, not understanding how it was scraping at the puddle of what the well of power had been before. With every step, every crack that tried to be repaired, it took more from her, and it would keep taking.

The Titan had long known the cost of pride. That holding on when all seemed lost to not appear weak had brought the end of many of her peers. It had always been on the other side she had seen it, but she understood it. When Titania fought long after she was well beaten, when a fellow Queen challenged an army they had no hope of defeating, pride had been their downfall. She understood that power, prestige and respect can all be reattained, but there is but one life to have, and when it was lost, it was done.

...Except for that one time, but that didn't count.

All the same, Chitania knew that sometimes, it was simply best to run, to recuperate, and come back when the odds were more in favor. She had been struck by surprise multiple times here, they had managed to get the brunt of their army on her without delay, and even now she could still feel the searing pain of that princess's desperate self destruction. It was in her best interest to be anywhere else, except for here.

She, as much as it stung her pride, had to admit that this one time, it was best to flee, and let them win.

There was only one problem...

She couldn't escape.

Everywhere she turned, they were on her. Everywhere she looked, they hunted her down. There were guards down below that kept an eye on her every movement and every location she could reach. That damned thing in the sky seemed able to track her movements with a careful precision. Even the Filly seemed two steps ahead whenever she tried to duck away, preemptively launching another of her seemingly endless array into her side any time she showed weakness.

If she were to shrink now, that missile would no longer contend with her size enhanced chitin. It would only take one shot, without the armor she held.

Again, she cursed her lacking magic. Any other could have teleported clear by now, but her inability and lack of talent proved to make such a thing impossible. Worse, with every passing step, the range she could potentially reached grew smaller, and smaller. At this rate, she would not be able to be clear of their sight, no matter where she went to. They would see her, and finish her with gusto.

Finally... she did not know if the would go after her daughter.

Sweet Note, she doubted even was a blip on their radar. Sunset could easily handle herself, she had before. But her child... all knew of what she felt for her, they all saw it first hoof when she openly made a fool of herself in the wake of that demon's attack. If she ran now, what would they do to her?

She did not wish to find out.

More and more, it seemed the only way this would end...

Was their victory.

Another, massive strike landed solidly on her side, causing her to collapse a building with her mass as soon as she landed. Just as before, it became harder and harder to get back up.

It hit her, as she began to run again. A thought, though dark... was not pushed aside.

The joys of a much more massive size became apparent as she witnessed every crack and chip and bruise on the Titan's frame in stunning, full glory. Their relentless assault was working, it was succeeding where all else had failed, and little by little it was bringing her down.

She could see the Titan stumble, waver every now and again when a particularly strong blast would strike her. If this kept up, no amount of stubbornness would save her. It wouldn't be long now, and then she would fall.

>Finally... I can find out what caused this disaster.

She had long since wanted to bring the Titan to justice for the damage caused so very long ago. There was still some bitterness, even after all this time, that she felt when she thought of the pain her back and the fear she felt when she saw Shining Armor's adopted child in that massive grasp. She tried to push those feelings aside, but there were some things she simply could not overcome. That was one of them.

Even still, she was prepared and ready for when the changeling could hold her form no longer. When she at last slipped from the size to dwarf the buildings all around and was of a more manageable stature, her horn was already charged with a spell to whisk her away to be confined before the more trigger happy of their resistance could bring her to death's door. She would face justice, real justice, not the battle of a mob against a monster.

Even if the roaring thing wished to act like a beast, that did not mean she would stoop to such a level as to treat her like one. She would be captured, confined, and she would answer for her many crimes, at last.

Just as soon as she fell, her judgement would come.

So caught up in her thoughts, she honestly hadn't noticed. But, true enough, the edge of the city was not far at all, and the titanic snout was pointed straight at it.

Something seemed off about this, to the princess. She was too focused, too square and straight. She was not simply heading for the edge, but instead seemed dead set on a very particular piece of the edge. The Titan's eyes, so massive as they were, showed not fear, nor desperation... but determination.

Then they would have said "We think she's dead" or some measure of it, they would not have gone "Well, she's alive and totally hidden, but they think they're plants so hah!"

In fact, it's even a crazier big plothole because that would mean that Nefarious grabbed them while Momsie/Chrysalis was in a frantic state to pick up every changeling/Queen they could find, yet they still just assumed they were alive despite locating them being theoretically the easiest to find of everyone, period. They could see her the middle of a forest if they needed to. The whole point of that joke was that they were laughing that a Queen was alive but not able to actually do anything, but in reality if either thought of that Chitty would have looked for her on her world tour!

See, this is why you need nuance with retcons, this opens up a hell of a lot of questions if you actually think about it. Trying to use her with Nefarious would just mean we actually had to explain these massive character inconsistencies and plotholes.

She couldn't get away. They were going to win.

The voice she heard was one she recognized, even if she had only known them for a short time. Her memory was a sharp one, especially for those she had once called ally. This stallion, no matter how similar he seemed to the many others, was one she knew.

Mind like a steel vault, that's how she was.

Despite what her showcasing in her Highschool play's starring role may have said otherwise, even Sunset was not a strong enough actor to keep the annoyed frown off her face.

He let out a slow sigh, eyes frequently darting over to the sight of the battle beyond.

Every single hair on her skin felt like it was ready to spring free at his words. Though she did not fully know why her body had reacted as such, one thing she did know was how little she liked this long forgotten sensation.

Sunset found herself glancing back, just in time for a bolt of lightning to rain from the sky, and make the Titan stumble.

The two unicorns squared off, magic bleeding out into the streets.

"Sunset Shimmer, you are... wha-"

The glimmer in the corner of his eyes had taken him off guard. The flying little silver thing shimmering in the light had only made it as far as the side of his face in it's journey of arcing through the air.

Then it exploded.

"GAHHHHH!"

A strange foam substance covered his face, completely blinding him with a white mist that almost hissed as it left a burning sensation in his eyes.

Sunset, surprisingly, was as taken off guard as the actual guard. Her confusion would have lasted longer, had the answer not gotten a running blow right into the side of the unicorn's face.

'SUNSET RUN!'

The earth pony struck again, and Pommel stumbled, barely left standing after the hit to the side of his head. The purse clutched tightly in her hooves packed far more punch than it should, leaving a painful mark on the side of his head.

'What are you still doing standing here!? Get over there!'

Realization hit her in tandem with the soldier releasing a burst of magic, clearing the remains of the exploded pepper spray from his face and freeing his vision just in time to see Sunset run.

The earth pony made another dive, only to find him ready this time. His magic ignited, grabbing hold of her foreleg and jerking them up, a magical sphere keeping her from striking him again with her weapon of choice.

He reached out, another magical spell aimed squarely at Sunset's fleeing legs.

"EEEEYOW! OW OW OW!"

It never found her, fading away when the earth pony drove down her hind hoof onto the very tip of his own, cracking the keratin and leaving splits of bleeding lines clear up into the skin barrier. So shocked, he dropped her, clutching his poor forehoof to his chest while still managing to duck under another swing.

"What are you doing!?"

Her response was action, her flail weapon swinging again and again at his head, never finding it's mark before a bolt of magic turned it from weapon, to rubble.

'Awww, I liked that bag-hey!'

His magic pinned her down, holding her to the ground and keeping her prone as the stallion found his footing once again.

"...Damn it."

In the brief scuffle, he had already lost sight of Sunset. No doubt, she would keep it that way.

"Damn it!"

He regained his composure, trotting over to the mare still struggling on the ground.

"...I remember you."

She remained silent, and not through any magic of his.

"You were in there too, that fight I mean, weren't you?"

Nothing came from her, save the sound of hooves scraping against the ground as she fought to be free.

"I was going to Sunset for some details, but you know what? This is just fine, maybe you'll be a little more reasonable."

The incredulous look said it all.

"Talk to me, tell me what happened, I'll listen to you. I'll hear your side of it. You and I both know that a lot of ponies named you as the one who snuck attack them from behind with a brick in a purse, and I just caught you red hoofed with the weapon. But things aren't always what they seem, so talk. I'll listen."

Her look, previously dismissive, turned outright hostile.

You can walk away from this with enough bits you never have to worry about being used, by her or anyone else, ever again. You can still get out of this. Just tell me what she's doing, and the lives you save will be well worth the price. You can do some real good here, help me out, and I'll help you out."

She shook again, and ever so slowly, she began to look back to him.

'I...'

He leaned in as she started whispering, her voice too low to hear even his short distance away. His ears flickered when she continued to whisper, and he could just barely hear the rest.

'...I ain't talkin' to no fuckin' guard!'

He had no time to react, either from the pain of her shout or what came next. Her teeth sank into his ear, the jolt of pain enough to cause his concentration to falter for just a second.

All the time she needed.

The surprise didn't end yet. With one smooth motion, she leapt up, and slammed down every one of her four hooves as hard as she could on his leg.

'I knew I was going in, and I know your buddies are gonna be along to wrap me up soon! Don't matter, I was gonna get got one way or another one of these days, folk like me always end up that way. But...'

She swatted his horn when she saw light beginning to form before lifting him again, slamming him down hard on his back before he could even register what she was saying.

'At least every one of the fuckers in the clink are gonna know which bitch kicked your a-'

The crack could have been heard clear down the street.

Her words were left behind as she suddenly jerked forwards, only barely able to stay on her hooves. The ex-prostitute wobbled, right foreleg weirdly grasping as the air beside her, as if trying to catch something that wasn't there. Her breathing became ragged, slowing down as her eyes unfocused, and her movement became more jerky and erratic.

'... I tried this time...'

Shortly after the first trail of red rolled down from her mane, her eyes rolled back, she hit the ground, and there she stayed.

Alright, here is a sketch done for Princess Pthirus.

Pros:

1. Its familiar, we'll be sticking close to what we've already done before, unlike the DDV where we will be diving head first into the unknown.

2. Unethical Genetic Experiments on her own kind, to build a mutant army, all in the hopes of revenge and ascension! and maybe world domination? This potentially gives us a way for us to write a modified ascension, for those who are interested in that for Two.

3. She'll be easy to write for, since we already have her mother as an example and all we really need to do is maker her as bad if not worse than her mother.

4. More Lings! More Changeling Powers! More Dead Queens! All for the use of mutant Lings!

5. More Uses for those 'Useless' Changeling Powers! We can get creative and so will she!

6. Fuck Seven!

8. Changeling Vs Changeling! Chrysalis and Chitania can team up with other interested parties to put this threat down! Opening up doors for 'reconciliation and forgiveness' and for the the Changeling Nation!

You're here for lulz and good feels, I understand that, but some of us need the Action, the Drama, the Horror and suspense. Some of us also want some really dark stuff, but the joy doesn't come from the dark stuff, its from watching them deal with it and getting rid of it at the end. This ride will have its ups and down and not everyone is gonna like a particular part, but we're all on this together and when its all said and done, we'll all still say it was one hell of a ride.

That being said, there are no cons ya scrub, everything put down are the points for something in all their evil and potentially point glory.

I think it can work if we actually tie it in to the past or a central overarching theme that contrasts AJ or one of the others and their struggles, so maybe the DD one will work, but I agree this feels very much like a "We need Super Evil who is the evilest and you can't redeem them and they have no nice parts EVIL Villain" tacked on nothing. Even when those two were being pitched, that was their only thing to them that they were evil and nasty and did nasty things. No sense of theme, story, or meaningful connection to the grander series, all of that apparently comes second, and I don't like it.

All of our best villains came up from how they combat our heroes and what they mean to the protagonists first, everything else second. This feels like just making up "I wanna dark villain" first, that's it.

But hey, all about the story, isn't it? Maybe the stories he has for these are so good that it'll seem like it just fits.

I can tell you why you feel this way. It's cause someone didn't write it in and we just went along with it like we always do.

These both feel artificial cause they're being pre-made, out of the story. We're deciding what kind of Villian we want next and we talked a bit about it. I asked if I should make a portrait and some points for each Villian, to give more clarity and to give people a face and some solid ground work if we decided to go that way. And we could end up picking neither or just using them way later. This is a learning experience as well as an experiment in how we can do things.

Anyway, yeah that's why it feels this way. The others happened naturally, and these are being pre-made and screened for potential. If it doesn't work out, hey we learned, we won't do it again. It just means that we shouldn't mess with what works. But it could also lead to some better methods, even if it fails. And to answer your question, it's always been like that, its just never been as in your face as this.

I think the bigger issue is, our main heroes have already fought both of those. Actually? Worse than that, it was the side guys who fought the kindapping, enslaving, brutal, army commanding monster who also had a superweapon he got on the black market. We had the concept of the DD guy get beat by fucking Twenty Nine and the Side Guards.

Then we also had deformed monsters who were near impossible to kill and controlled by an unfeeling being who simply wanted to take over the world, bonus points, that one's spearhead was a changeling with ties to the characters past! Only difference was, Cordyceps was a lot scarier than her, due to the fact she'll just kill you/mutate you then you die. But Cordyceps? He takes you over completely, uses your body against your love ones, then takes them over, and it wasn't just going to take over the world, but he was an end of all things being. Oh, and the zombies are fucking unkillable too, so you can't even fight them. We made a way more intense and scary villain than her out of a mushroom.

And then there's the fact that the whole "Genetic mutants" thing is PD's schtick, and we already had them easily beat a bunch of them back in the 12 rescue arc. We even got Centitrain out of it, it's cool.

What can these guys do that's new, and don't say "They're brutal killers/torturers/monsters you can't redeem", Pommel already killed one of those, and now we just kinda occasionally make fun of a computer program.

I agree that might be it. We've had other villains we've thrown at the wall but didn't stick, or make an impact that really lasted, like Anters, but we always did it in story, and we had an idea of what they were. This is more concepts and designs, which is different than what we normally do. It's like, Chitty wasn't pitched to us as "Hey I wanna big changeling who can stomp shit and is Godzilla", she was written in a Momsie story and got a positive enough reception that when her writer said "I want to bring her into the fold" it was agreed.

That said, this might work. It's different, but doesn't mean it's not wrong, and stuff like the Apple Crazy arc was clearly planned out beforehand, so planning could work.

How about something that draws from AJ's shadowbolt counterpart, Sugarcoat?
A creature that tells brutal truths and takes away hope by doing so, like the creature from Pandora's Box?

I had a random idea. I'm trying to draft up 3 random stories that could potentially lead to a villain introduction story. My mind is wandering pretty bad writing these, so it may not even end up being a nightmare creature.
Anyway, I don't know how quick you are, but could you try doing 3 rough sketches of potential villains. I post 3, you post 3, we could then try mixing and matching elements that are interesting from each other. Maybe I like a certain feature your creature has and try and write up a story based off it.

If not, I'll probably end up posting my 3 shorts and have you make your own suggestions that I can just try to run with.

Random as possible. Let your mind completely wander. Pick a word and draw what you think a creature would look like based on that word. When I say rough sketch, I mean rough. We're in throwing stuff at the wall currently. Take the ones that are sticky, roll them up, and throw it again.

If you do need something to go off of, I say shadowy, depression, insanity, cancer growth, envy, Pick one of those words and make a creature scream it.
