Seeing Sal's quickie about Aria and the wedding dress motivated me to share just the opening scene for that fic I have in the works. Since I think it could almost stand on its own as a short. It takes a bit of a different direction from the tone of my others. Yeah, it's not green. But hope it'll appeal.
Want to show Aria facing, and eventually overcoming, her issues of low self-worth, as well as wanting to just feel recognized and valued. Rarity eventually takes a big role in this, too, hence the trigger from that short green.

I think >>27649433 put it the best. I'd like to share a thought here. I was going to say that we like them together because they are a team, until I remembered that the Mane 6 are also a team, and their fans are often at war with eachother.
Thing is, the Mane 6 are three couples of opposites. The outgoing Dash and introverted Fluttershy, the pragmatic Applejack and artistic Rarity, and the orderly Twilight and chaotic Pinkie. Most of their team dynamics rely on those opposite pairings, and there are ponies you very rarely see interacting with eachother. For example Rarity and Dash. When a Dazzling says or does something, it causes a response from both her teammates rather than her opposite.Their team dynamics are much better. Each of them brings out something of the other two.

I love Glimglam too. She's the only TV villain that actually got talked down from the villain cliff while still being undefeated. It's a pub with a focus on fantasy. The walls are decorated with swords, shields (mostly) there are fantasy elements left and right, a few tables dedicated to card games, a tall bookcase with various board games for the patrons to play with, and a two tables upstairs. One for wargaming (with a battlemat and a pile of terrain pieces to chose from) and another for general purposes, like for example painting. /Tg/ would love it. Thing is, I may be a NEET manchild, but I'm not a neckbeard anymore. Had I known I'd been invited just to watch (and try) Magic and drink (which I don't) on a night that girls go out dressed nicely and are open to having fun, I would had gone elsewhere alone. In the end I were and watched another friend play 40k upstairs instead. Blood Angels vs Plague Marines/Black Legion. The marines won.
