Let's say her social skills are only half-developed - she can pass as some kind of dragon with a clever disguise, so she's used to socializing with them...it's just that dragon socializing is contentious, standoffish, selfish, and rude.
And of course having to hide who she is to get along with anybody but her parents (maybe grandparents and a handful of other relatives too) has left with self-esteem AND self-identity issues.

She's supposed to be inspired by the whole Japanese ghost thing, with a few personal design decisions.
She's "blind" in the sense that her actual eyes are stitched closed and the eyes on her body can't really see well. They can't see things that aren't moving. Unfortunately this makes haunting people and ponies not that easy which she does because she doesn't like being alone (which can't really be avoided).
TV is something she really likes; That and other constantly moving things like fans. Despite not being able to talk vocally, she's learned to communicate through morse code using her eyes and loves to chat.

'for now' in the third line would work better as 'right now'. 'For now' implies that she's a regular member of this force, but that's going to change. 'Right now' is unmistakably 'this began as a temporary thing, and it's going to end that way'.
The 'check' thing is repetitive when it doesn't have to be; I'd recommend narrating her looking at them in a more organic sense. '[a] is next to [b] and [c] just barely fits into the ship/pack/whatever'. It's less repetitive and also paints a clearer picture of exactly where she is and what she's doing.
'flicker out afterwards' is a little odd too, though I can't say exactly why. 'immediately afterwards' or even 'right after' would be straight upgrade though. Again, paints a clearer picture.
I really want to see more. Please keep going.
