Not much of a story. We met up at a restaurant and most were pretty loud and probably disturbing others. There was a Target nearby and went there after our meal. I wanted to grab a Fluttershy since this was the first time I'd been to Target since getting into the show, so I tagged along. Unfortunately the group started singing pony songs all the way to the pink aisle, so I slipped away at that time. Never went to any meet-ups since, though I did go to BABScon to get some autographs. Honestly, you just have to not be an autist about it, which many people have a problem doing.
I didn't wear any of my pony shirts, hang any pony posters, or put the figurines on my desk until about 2 months into college. At that point, everyone knew I wasn't a fucking flaming faggot autist, so they were like, "Oh,you liked ponies? Ok." And then life continued as normal.
Too many people make it seem like it's their entire life, and for many that is.
I guess it also helps that I don't look like an autist. I shave, exercise, wear clothes other than graphic tees and cargo shorts (though I do own both of those, I'd be lying if I said I didn't) and actually enjoy outdoor activites which means I have a healthy tan. I actually have normie friends who occasionally watch the show and talk to me about it because they know they can talk to me about it without me sperging at them.
Also the my first shirt was pic related, so that helped a bit. As much as people don't like the comics, the art style is pretty decent and doesn't reveal right away, "TECHNICOLOR PONIES." It's not like I came in wearing that Sweetie Belle 'meh' shirt that was popular a while back.
That's not to say I don't have my cringe moments from highschool...I just don't want to think about them. Except for the bitch with green hair that drew Homestuck fan art, but said I was weird for liking MLP. She was a bitch.
