Yeah it's a temp mane for now. Pinka Poe's mane was the first one I learned to draw so I fall back on it when I need something right then.

You have been getting better, the difference does look a bit small, but the anatomy does look a lot better than the first.
It does need a little bit more work though, but you've almost got it down pat.

Just from glancing at it, her neck looks a bit too thick, her head seems too large and the ear should be a bit further back and turned a bit more with her looking in that direction. It looks like she's spreading her legs out at an angle too but that could be my eyes playing tricks.These are all opinions so take them with a grain of salt.

as long as they're proportional, you should be good. At least, that's how i see it lol i've never been able to replicate the show style, so i kinda made my own and stuck with it. Anatomy wise, I still am good with it, i jsut toyed around with what i wanted. You look like you could be able to do that now, though if you wanted to!

Anywhere. Use stills from the show or crawl derpibooru to find new ones.
My only suggestion is to get some non-lined paper and use that. Printer paper is cheap. That and don't press down quite so hard on the paper, you don't want to get groove it.
A light touch takes forever to get right so don't stress about it at all.

I drew this the other day in a draw thread on here. I just got my first tablet like two weeks ago! I can't wait to see how my art will grow over the next few years.
What I am having trouble with is my speed and I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to color. If anyone has any tips for coloring eyes, making hair look shiny, or how to shade that would very awesome of you

Oh yeah, I remember that thread! Don't rush, and don't worry about the speed. Take it slow and correct mistakes instead of rushing over them. A lot of people who are amazing at sketching can't color worth shit too, so try to get other people online to help. Shading is it's own class that you'd either have to have years of self-training or many classes to get well.

In terms of human proportions, it looks like it.The distance between both eyes is a little weird, but that might be because the cat-nose is small. Other than that, it terms of the length of arms/legs, it looks fine.
But I assume that that's from something I don't about, so if it's from an anime or something I wouldn't really know if it is supposed to have specific proportions.

What are you going for? Show accuracy or your own style? If you want to go like the show, the muzzle starts too high and the eyes are a bit too small. In general, the muzzle starts below the midline and the eyes are about half the head's diameter tall. Also, the neck shouldn't curve out into the head like that unless the head is tilted upwards. If you were going for a more stylized thing, I can't really suggest anything without a reference to what you like.

your front, side and 3/4 veiws are completely inconsistent anatomically. The canon ponies mouths come to a point like your 3/4 view only in profile or near profile. Think about the shape, though. The front of the snoot is roughly rectangular, so the mouth underneath it isn't going to come to a point. That's why that looks so horrifying/weird. I see you drew guidelines on the 3/4 view, but your eyes especially are askew from your guidelines. You should try doing a turnaround where all the anatomical features remain on the same plane as you draw the face from different angles.

You really need to study the proportions of the head and facial features.
Also you have a pretty noticeable skew to the right. I'ts very, very common with new artists and it can take a few months to get rid of. Just be aware that almost all of your drawings are leaning to the right. Now that I've pointed it out hopefully you'll be more aware of it. If you're drawing digitally you can flip your canvas horizontally and it'll stick out like a sore thumb. If you're traditional you can look at your drawing in a mirror.

Getting good lines is it's own separate skill that requires a lot of time to get good at. The reason your sketches look better than your lined art is because when you see multiple sketch lines your brain automatically picks what looks good. The challenge is that your eye doesn't know which line is the perfect line. It's a delicate thing. Line can imply shadow all on it's own as well as act as a contour. It can make or break an imagine. It can imply direction and form.
My only advice is to keep at it. Rather than lining, clean up the sketch with the erase tool. It'll teach you which lines to erase rather than which lines to make.

Here's some recent practice i've done to maybe reinforce what I"m talking about. Sketches tend to have a lot more energy since you can usually see the forms that the artist is going for. A lot of my works have a certain sketchiness to them since I really hate losing the energy that re-lining gives it so I tend to just erase the lines I dont need and the lines I want to stand out are more bold. I add hatching to add some depth and to hopefully give the viewer the feeling that they can reach into the page and touch the pone.
