-Both of them very closely related to the main character
-Both of them in positions of power

-They're loved and adored by everyone
-They both end up being the main catalyst that solves the conflict in a very deus-ex-machina way

The problem is twilight is much more often on the spotlight.
And when she is, she also very often steal that spotlight from the rest of the cast.
She isn't the biggest mary sue, but she is by far the favorite of the mane 6, and it make the show and its "friendship is magic" stuff fall flat when twiligh just do 95% of the shit and her friends are just... there. It's basically "yeah friendship is magic but I'll always be the better friend to have along with AJ, suck it faggots."
