What would mechs look like using WW2 technology? What would they be armed with? Would they be crewed by a team? Would they have specialised roles like WW2 tanks did?
>>
>What would mechs look like using WW2 technology

They wouldn't be able to move under their own power or fire a single shell without toppling

>What would mechs look like using WW2 aesthetic

THEY WOULD LOOK SO GOOD

LOOK AT THIS SHIT

NOW STRAP LEGS AND ARMS TO THAT SHIT

NOW WATCH IT WERF SHIT

SO GOOD

>What would mechs look like using WW2 technology?
I don't think it'll be tech that affects how they look like, rather, I think its the general trial-and-error method that happened with tanks that would lead to all sorts of mecha design until they get something good.
>What would they be armed with?
Good ol' tank guns and the occasional howitzer?

>Would they be crewed by a team?
Possible.

>Would they have specialised roles like WW2 tanks did?
If you mean in terms of roles like AA and whatnot, sure.
But in terms of tank types(Light, Medium, Heavy, etc), the mechs would probably have something similar, until they dump the whole Heavy-Mech concept later because cost and effectiveness. Then there's the brits with their cruiser tank and infantry tank, then later the universal tank projects, which is pretty much MBTs.

Like this, tank cannons, yes, yes.

And the same thing would happen in the naval theatre, except instead of transitioning from massive floating gun batteries to massive floating airfields, battleships would transition from massive floating gun batteries to massive floating catapult batteries that fling mechs at opposing ships.

Because it would look cool.

It's sort of like one, if every attack took five minutes to make. But the ponderous pace of the game kind of fits the clunkiness of the robots.

Soundtrack was good too.

Added Volume 3.

I've only heard about this comic book on /co/. I personally find it incomprehensible that it has never been mentioned here before.

It's French, so it has all the sex and violence that the gringoes are too chicken to add.

So, let's see: according to your logic, the best mecha-related cartoon/comic book/videogame is not allowed on /m/, whereas the worst mecha-related garbage is /m/, as long as it is made in Japan.

Am I correct?

>Nazi Mech
Top of the Line Mech with V2 Rockets strapped on. Unnecessarily big, complex, and absolutely gorgeous to look out.

>American Mech
Small, quick, cheap, and effective. 15 of them to every one nazi mech

>Japanese Mech
Has a sword for no real reason, and the cockpit protection is only a piece of glass. Every mech has a self destruct.

Quick question: what's a good program to read these on?
>>
>>13898493
They build mechs with WWII technology. They were called tanks and airplanes, they didn't have legs because mechanical walking is incredibly difficult to do and is inefficient as a means of propulsion.

There's plenty of software. I personally use CDisplay, an archaic thing that hasn't had an update in over a decade, thanks to its developer passing away.

Apart from that one, there are plenty of options:

I honestly do not understand why manga/hentai releases use ZIP/RAR as standards instead of CBR/CBZ/CB7 like comic book releases.

They look like menacing boxes.
The M4 was a working machine with minimal charm.
Soviet tanks were utterly terrible when it comes to crew comfort, but some of their stuff look good with their slope/curved armor.
The germans had tanks that were overengineered in some aspects, but the tanks, despite being boxes(The Tiger, for example), looked good.

The germans having boxes for tanks didn't stop american forces from screaming ITS A TIGEEEEEEER when they see german tanks.

Keith Thompson ain't that shit. Don Figueroa ain't that shit. You can't point to battletech as an example of all western /m/ design even tho I'm kinda doing the same by saying Keith is an example of good western /m/ generalizing just makes you seem ignorant and dumb.

>What would mechs look like using WW2 technology?
Someyhing like stylized shirotanks.
>What would they be armed with?
Some light cannons and machine guns I guess. Also picrelated.
>Would they be crewed by a team?
2-3 people seems like the right choice (I can make up roles for them at least).
>Would they have specialised roles like WW2 tanks did?
Of course. Depending on their weapons, armor, speed, size and other specs. I'd love to watch a Stalingrad battle OVA with hundreds of Katyushas vs. some German supertanks.

>Small, quick, cheap, and effective. 15 of them to every one nazi mech

But the whole reason Merka triumphed over Japs in the pacific air war is because they built heavier, more expensive, more powerful, more complex machines that were superior in most ways to the Jap ones except for climbing ability, allowing their pilots to actually get home

The steel in the rear of the Grumman's cockpit literally saved lives

Anon, the Germans lost the race for air dominance when all of their next gen projects that were supposed to cover the stretch until jet fighters could be actually put into use floundered and the Japanese quit the league early on.

You should look up the firing proceedures of a V2. The vids are on the tube. Afterwards come back and tell me how to bolt that to a robot.

Mein neger.

I bet they'd have a team of reloaders running in tow. Or some poor bastard would open a hatch behind the launchers in OP's image and slip new rockets into the tubes one by one while the commander and gunner took turns berating him for being too slow.
>>
>>13908257
I don't think people understand how huge and incredibly unreliable V2s were.
