The Show itself was more or less :
on the one hand there was a curious idea tactics + knowledge against super-robots in the first season,
on the other hand - the quarry of Slaine and its relationship with Lemrina...
but lousy ending spoiled everything!!!
Seriously, to hell with the Inao, to hell with AssHime, where's my happy ending fof martians?!
Director and Co needs to die the most shameful and painful death...
>on the one hand there was a curious idea tactics + knowledge against super-robots in the first season
More like "Inaho doing the whole fighting by himself and winning by author fiat". I've complained a lot about how SEED spins around Kira and the Archangel, but A/Z makes it look nunaced. The rest of the UFE isn't even there at all. The only ones who do anything are Inaho and the Deucalion,
>on the other hand - the quarry of Slaine and its relationship with Lemrina...
Lemrina was a plot device to have Asseylum giving pro-Vers propaganda.

>tactics + knowledge against super-robots
Except they took huge leaps to get there, seldom made sense, and most shouldn't have worked anyway.
If the plan is going to work "just because", regardless of science or common sense, you can do whatever you want right from the get-go. No reason to pretend like you're doing it the "smart", realistic way, setting yourself up to get called out for fucking it up when you fail.

Martians could be deserving of better could if they weren't all one-dimensional idiots. Lemrina was nothing as a character herself, she was just a plot device with no story arc or development. Harklight was even worse. Slaine came close to being a character. He had the idea of rising through the ranks and all that, but the writing was piss poor and lazy.

I may not understand the conversation, but I can tell he's being smooth. Perhaps a little TOO smooth.
Lemrina a best.
A best.
I support this thread.
Lemrina was indeed great.
He really should have settled for 2nd place princess.
