I was told at some point that Pokemon starters in generation 1 were visually influenced by Gundam mechs. Apparently, there is a mech with two cannons on its rear(Blastoise), one that can fly(Charizard), and another on all fours(Venusaur).
I would like to show a friend these three mechs as well as seeing them again for myself.

They are further emphasizing the rock paper scissors aspect. One is stuck to the ground which makes it easy prey to the flying one which makes him weak to the one that shoots with it's upward pointed cannons.

I mean back cannons aren't exactly new fresh or original, and most mobile suits can fly in some way, I don't know what to tell you about the walking on all fours thing, that sounds kind of dumb and I can't think of anything like that. Are you sure you didn't just see some kitbashed gunpla someone made? It sounds sort of similar to something I saw in one of those threads.

Blastoise looks a bit like the guncannon on the left. I guess Venasaur looks sorta like the guntank if you squint.
