I'm not sure if it's Stockholm Syndrome talking, but I think I actually prefer Orguss's Z1 animations, which are definitely the Aquarion dude's best work.
The Z3 animations just feel like they go too far with the janky framerate gimmick, there's very little in terms of camera movement, and in general the Orguss just feels slower and less agile than its Z1 version. A lot less dynamic, too: Instead of Kei and Orson surrounding the bad guys and blowing them away for the Orguss Combination's finisher, they just sort of fly over, then they stop, then they look at them for a second or so, and THEN they shoot.
