Just finished the Den-O movie trilogy, why do people not like it?

SHT is pretty balanced and there are always Rider characters around (Decade, OOO and some Fourze)
Rider Taisen and SHTGP are basically just Rider movies with the Sentai just appearing for a distracting final battle cameo.

In the First, Hongo's only gone for a short time, whereas in the manga he's gone for years. Hongo in the manga also isn't an autistic scientist whose brainwashing is broken by a snowflake, he was saved before any such brainwashing happened. And in the manga, Hongo was a much more convicted, straightforward person.
Shocker also isn't just cackling villains in the manga like they are in the show - they're a corrupting, massive-scale and honestly ontological force that relies more on shit like pollution and social corruption. The cyborgs are mainly operatives and enforcers, but are in no way their main operation.
The closest the two get to being similar is that yes, Cobra and Medusa were romantically involved. In the manga, this was only sort of acknowledged rather late, more just to give a connection between two characters. In the movie, they spend way too much time running their goddamn mouths about it. This is really fucking annoying when they could've spent this time doing something like developing a movie equivalent to Hayase, a kaizo ningen who actually WANTED to be one so that he could finally be better than Hongo.

Now, it's true that technically it has been years since the interview where it was mentioned that she had never followed the older Rider series or watched them before writing Ryuki, but all of her writing afterwards still lines up with that. To me, Blade just paces itself out damn near perfectly (Leangle being the one noticeable exception). It doesn't pull shit out of its ass, it doesn't endlessly delay obvious plot twists, and it doesn't stretch out melodrama by having character act uncharacteristically retarded out of nowhere. Everything that develops in the finale arc happens naturally based on what we already know of the conflict and the characters involved. That's what makes it so rewarding to watch through.
