I've noticed the transformation sequence is one big GaoGaiGar reference, with some of it being near 1-1 lifts from Final Fusion. There's some Gurren Lagann spiced in there too, which I mainly see in Voltron's face (Like a less expressive Lagann). They already have a sketchy lined hotblood acrivation screen (which I hope there will be more of), so I wonder how many more nods there will be regardung Voltron himself. Here's hoping Hell and Heaven is true...
Also, who here can already imagine this guy in SRW? I can feel the final event where they go in to rescue the princess is wide open for a surprise calvary event. Like say, Keith getting surprise assistance from Galeon during his fight with Zarkon (or Zarkon as a boss in general).
My favorite part of the show still remains the Balmara arc, since I really like seeing the good these big robots do while they go fight bad dudes. It's what stuck out to me in GaoGaiGar, it's what hit my heart in GunBuster, and I hope to see more of that here.

You could just check Wikipedia for the name of the writer. And the guy who wrote the finale for Korra isn't even working on the show. Nor are the Avatar creators, Bryke, who are responsible for a lot of the show's problems. Two of the writers are showrunners on it, but neither wrote the finale.

Oh fuck off. When they make a mistake you're free to hang 'em over said mistake, but generalising it like that is just being an asshole. The guys have put in work on plenty of good shows like Justice League, and have, as far as we know, nothing to do with Korra bending to fan pressure, which is on Bryke, the show's creators and showrunners, along with DiMartino, who was a creative director and wrote that episode - people who actually control the direction of the show. It'd be like being wary of two Japanese writers because a few guys succumb to executive meddling - something that does happen within the anime industry on occasion.
