Actually, outside of Gundam, I'm finding it difficult to think of shows that focus on war, at least in the way that Gundam would portray it. Macross does, but other than that, it's very often people starting revolutions or being one-man armies, or getting into nothing more than small skirmishes for the whole show. Sometimes the quarrels are even entirely private.
