High Grail really is a bad upgrade. They completely removed the Sword Blazers and forearm weapons in general, it has only four swords that can only be used as a single combined two-handed sword and the regular swords are to short/wide to be used on their own so it can't use Oldrin's signature duel wield, it has less Sword Harukens and has a pretty ugly head.

The forearms now have BL generators for defense in addition to Sword Blazer and the combined swords are said to function like a whip so it presumably has wide range Sword Harken capability(gonna need the lineart to confim this last point)

A Code Geass RTS game.
The two competing factions are the Holy Britannian Empire and Europia United.
The primary resource of the game is currency obtained from mining Erbium (random mineral). On the map, there are also mines with special resources such as Sakuradite which are more valuable. These mines are in the hands of neutral factions, such as Japan. The cheapest and quickest way to get these resources is to kill the neutral team. On the other other hand, you can choose to help these neutral factions through diplomacy. A smash and grab of Sakuradite can be effective for rushes, but getting the ore through diplomatic means may be more beneficial in a longer game.
Units fit into the following categories:
>Workers (builders and miners)
>Infantry (Cheapest unit)
>Armored vehicles (APCs, LAVs, Land battleships)
>Knightmare Framers (Generation 4 upwards)
>Air vehicles (Transports)
The ultimate objective of the game is to kill the enemy King. This a ground unit that can ride in ground and air transports. Each faction's king has a unique ability. Britannia's Charles Zi Britannia can deploy a F.L.E.I.J.A warhead. Gene Smilas can deploy Apollo's Chariot. These are abilities that are only useful close to the frontlines, so you can't just keep your king in a building right at the back. (You can but you won't have their abilities) Each of these abilities have 'bases where they are built but the King is the one who directs these abilities will land on the frontline. If Charles isn't there, you can't shoot a F.L.E.I.J.A. Putting a King close to the front incurs more risk of them being killed but has the reward of deploying their abilities.

Through the game, The Knightmares evolve through a system similar to the 'ages' system in the AOE games. Pay an amount of currency and you can move onto the next KMF generation. KMFs are the bread and butter of gameplay. Britannian KMFs are more advanced, EU KMFs are more numerous. Some KMFs can be upgraded into the next generation, others are evolutionary dead ends.
There is also an 'ace' system. When you move to each next generation, you roll for a chance to get a KMF ace for your team. They come with their specific support groups which unlocks special technologies. Suzaku gets Camelot, Akito gets W-0 and so forth. Each team has only once ace and you have the chance to reroll for a new ace with each generation. Rerolling is free but all of your progress with your ace is reset. Aces fit into specific niches that can match your desired army composition. If you want to focus on air attack, you'll hope to get Gino.
A fast game will end in KMF generation 4 where your team is just ground units.
A long game will end in KMF generation 9, where your aces will duke it out at their highest level.
By all means, tear this apart and let me know what you think. I've always thought a Geass RTS game would be cool and would fit perfectly with the chess motif commonly brought up.

I thought about that, and my idea could work with a 3 race dynamic like Starcraft. There are pitfalls with going in that direction thought in that you can fall into a 'high-lo', 'mid-mid', 'lo-high' setup up for the races which has been done to death.
In terms of balance between the EU and Britannia, I've thought about several differentiating points such as the EU being the superior defensive force, but Britannia having more offensive options. Britannia may get flying KMFs first or cheaper, but the EU KMFs may be superior in ground mobility.

Through some trigger whether it be random or something you have to find on the map, you engage in a contract with a person with the Geass sigil. You are set a task to do within a certain time and your units are given some sort of bonus such as increased firing range or speed. If you complete the task you get to keep your bonus but if you don't, your stats are reduced to below what they were originally.

Because most of what he said is bullshit. Orpheus barely shows up in Oz and his novel story isn't good since its largely just short vigilantes showcases KMF with little to actual substance in them. Oldrin does grow as a character throughout Oz and O2 you're just at the very beginning of the manga. Marrybell is just as bad as others described her the inconsistency is largely due to the manga being rushed as shit and often times poorly written.

The point in Oz is that her entire worldview gets turned upside though due to the events the transpired knowing that the regime she believed him is corrupt and that her best friend has followed the same path, Orpheus is just a plot device he shows up from time to time but he gets less characterization than the Gilda Knights and even if you read the side novel it doesn't give you much of anything other than make him out to be a stu. Oldrin is as offensive as Kallen but Orpheus is pretty much what you'll get if Lelouch and Suzaku had no flaws.
