What sentai villains had the most fucked up schemes, like insane or dark or just plain weird

toqger's a lighter series and it didn't just have kidnapping children, it had entire towns where the villain was already winning through mass starvation or where everyone was lost and no one could go home, and when they were done with a town it would be erased from existence and frozen in time. also they had an episode where they brought fictional characters to life just so they could murder them.

koryuger had the one that made dead relatives appear to people and lure them through an endless maze

shinkenger had a bunch but the one that stuck out was the villain that switched peoples souls with inanimate objects so they'd murder each other by accident when they took the trash out

Gokaiger didn't kill a pet but I found Sally the Monkey dying really upsetting, they did a good job of making us see through the eyes of an abused animal in those episodes ;_;
>>
>>14261239
Ohranger's villains were originally launching daily attacks on major cities around the globe, burning everything to the ground and using acts of terror to force humanity into slavery, then started doing things like infecting people with cybernetic amoebas that transformed them from within into machine monsters (and was starting with children).

Oh, and in the movie they brainwashed people to either be gunned down in their own little movie or, in one case, had their legs chopped off in front of a bunch of kids as they planned to "improve" human bodies with metal limbs but just ended up murdering more people.

And then the real life terrorism happened and all this shit generally falls at the wayside a lot of times for much pettier stuff.

They translated a 50 episode series following the mantra of TVN and didn't bother having an editor go through the scripts to make sure that everything was at least consistent before they started selling it to people. That's beyond "slip".

>>
>>14262586
It changed sentai forever. Carranger was made with the mindset that could be the last sentai or at least the last one of its type before a massive retool of the franchise and it showed. Sentai lost its timeslot a year later and got stuck on the sunday morning ghetto, Megaranger added 4 extra minutes literally to promote more toys because that was the only reason why sentai was still on air. Even after it got back the ratings it was too late because it was already seen as "children entertainment" rather than "family entertainment" and as Tomino said once, never trust Bandai
>>
>>14262639
It won't eat them alive. They'll release the same low quality effort and Power Rangers fans will buy it and ask for more because "OMG THIS IS AMAZING OFFICIAL SUBS I CAN FINALLY SEE THIS SHOW" even though every show they've done and have been doing are already subbed and done better than Shout will ever do.

Wow. Way to be completely wrong. Jetman was the series that Sentai was going to end with, then Zyuranger was a success. The Megranger timeslot was Sentai going back to it's original time from before Dynaman.
>>
>>14262676
>The Megranger timeslot was Sentai going back to it's original time from before Dynaman.
The original timeslot was Saturday 7:30 PM. A pretty standard family entertainment time slot.
>>
>>14262710
Was Sentai always on Saturdays at 7:30PM until it changed to Sunday mornings halfway through Megaranger?
>>
How're the sixth rangers after go-busters? I never hear much about them.
>>
>>14262715
iirc Goranger and JAKQ were Saturdays at 7:30PM, then it was at 6:00PM but still Saturday from Battle Fever onwards to about the middle of Turboranger when it changed to Friday evenings at 5:30PM which lasted up to the Megaranger change.
>>
>>14262756
Utchy, Akira and Kinji are all pretty based.
>>
>>14262756
Kyoryuger's first sixth is a fan favorite, but Kyoryuger is full to the brim with extra rangers after the original team.
ToQger's sixth is also a fan favorite and is one of the best parts of the show.
Ninninger's sixth is generally well liked.
Zyuohger's sixth is about to premier, hope he melds with the team well which have good chemistry already.

Alright, about to start Changeman. What can I expect from this show?

Also, I have the first 9 episodes from GUIS, rest are from dead fish fansubs, are they at least readable or RRR-tier subs?

Thanks in advance.
>>
>>14261239
Jetman had Tran's plan of brainwashing people using ants and turning them into cannibal animal-eating ant people (seriously, a dog got eaten). That was the point I took him seriously as an irredeemable monster.

>>14261521
They do eventually get their groove back some by the time the big man Bacchushund goes kerplooie, at least.

>>14262676
Meanwhile, JAKQ actually killed Sentai outright for a year, until Bandai decided to add in the franchise's first team mech in Battle Fever J (which was really a Japanese Avengers anyway).

They're fine, biggest issue is that there's 3( inb4 2) episodes without subs, but they arent really "plot relevant" (one of them does have an asesome moment tho).
>>
>>14263894
Kyoryuger's ground action is great.

Go-Busters's mecha action is the best.

Sun Vulcan is fully subbed.
Battle Fever J has HKs for all of it (though I hear it's unwatchable vid quality)
Goranger is 2/3rds subbed (there's more eps of Goranger subbed than any other Sentai, it just happens to be a bit longer than most is all).

Help me out /ssg/, I'm having an identity crisis.

My dad walked out on my family when I was three years old, I never knew him. I instead grew up with superheroes to look up to. I've always been a huge fan of heroes, especially tokusatsu heroes like Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. This is what set my moral compass, I grew up believing in fighting for justice and doing what's right. But I've recently learned new things about my father, after all these years. I always knew he wasn't the best person, after all what kind of man simply abandons his family? But I had put him out of my mind and forgotten all about him, only to recently learn that he was more than just bad, he was a genuine villain. He's committed crimes, destroyed other families, sold drugs, escaped from the law, and done tons more villainous and illegal things almost without repercussion for years.

And I came from that, the son of an evil man. I've always lived my life believing in justice and what's right, and to know that my very genes come from a criminal, the very kind the heroes I looked up to would stop, it pierces me to my very soul. Any download link for Changeman? I already have the nine episodes that G.U.I.S subbed but I cannot find the episodes subbed by DeadFish, there's a torrent but it has no seeds.

It's avaiable to watch online through Facebook but you know...I'd rather have it downloaded.

Thanks in advance.
>>
>>14265793
It's mostly the fact that they are legally required to, at least if they're US based. Since Shout owns the US rights to it any other release is technically an illegal distribution, so if they don't take them down they could pursue legal action.
>>
>>14267435
Sure, the subs are shitty. But this is the natural order of things when it comes to fansubs. The entire point of fansubbing is to expose people to shit that isn't available in the country it's subbed in. Now that Shout's localizing Sentai, they're eliminating the need for fansubs for that show. Sure, the subs are shit. But hey, the fact that there was any interest in localizing it at all is a fucking miracle to begin with.
>>
Goddamn they really gave no fuck about actors' safety back then didn't they.
>>
>>14267432
Download the bunnyhat raws. The dead fish subs can be found as separate set files. Unfortunately not at a computer right now so can't provide you with a link to them.
>>
>>14267435
Legality is a silly excuse as it's technically illegal to begin with. This guy says it better >>14267483
>>
>>14267483
Exactly this! Of course newfags don't get that. They think fansubbing is something they're entitled to have. Anime fans have no issues stealing and reupping licensed works, but it wasn't always that way. Fansubbing is just a way for people to see things they can't buy in the US. When something becomes available groups used to pull their stuff down.

Besides, distributing fansub scripts is NOT illegal. It's sharing the video that's illegal. If someone where to retime GUIS's Kaku scripts to synch with the Shout DVD then they are well withing their rights to do so.
>>
>>14267680
None at all. Toei were very loose with safety precautions back in the day.

You know, when you think about it, the finale was bittersweet in a sense. None of the Livemen get to kill their enemies directly, since Volt pretty much imploded unto itself, and they've been scarred enough to not even care about Gash's video memories/montage.

>>14268089
They haven't ragged on it all that much these days, aside from being biased against IS. Just wait until GUIS resumes subbing Fiveman (currently planned to be their final project after Changeman/Flashman and Turboranger), the general might go nuclear when they get to the Fiveman Dolls. Or they probably won't talk about it much outside of the release threads.

Not him but Ryo's dad could have had more presence as a villain and ongoing threat, sort of like what they did with Tsukihime's father in Kakuranger, although he was a mole.
Point being, Ryo's father ended up being the way the team got their robots, and that doesn't sit well with everyone.

The show already got enough villains, Ryo already got an arc, and it's not a plot hole IIRC.
