Cancer can never be beaten for a few reasons. There is no profit to cure it. The companies making the chemo drugs make a insane amount of money from that and they probably have the drug to cure already made but will never release it. The other factor is that the cure if released will have to go through testing which would last decades before it might be considered on a person. Not to mention that it would be debated until it's death due to it's actually curing and what the side effects might be. If you are a doctor the way to get famous is not to find a cure to a disease but to find a disease or variation of a disease. It's a fucked world. t. Doctor.

And for the one he didn't do the OP for, he did 5 insert songs. They've mostly phased out pilot switching so it's not like there's gonna be a brand new unit they don't have lines for.
And they won't replace her just to have her namedrop "Enemy x you are a bad person" for every major villain. They don't even do that for VAs that are still alive if they don't have to.

Kaneto Shiozawa voiced Zato-1 in the original Guilty Gear and GGX, but he passed away about two months before GGX was released. In GGXX, Zato-1 is officially dead, with his symbiotic parasite thing, Eddie, taking over his body (voiced by Takehito Koyasu).
I can't really think of many other examples, and that's not really a good example, I guess.
