Depends what they're into. There's enough series that you can show them something they'd already be tangentially interested in. For example, Gekiranger or Dairanger if they like martial arts, Go-Onger if they like comedy anime, Zyuohger if they're a fucking furry etc.
Barring that, I'd probably just show them the most recent one. I recognise now that Ninninger is very middling by sentai standards, but when my friends showed me StarNinger's introduction, I was hooked because it was the most incredible, ridiculous, fantastic thing I'd ever seen, and being able to discuss it with them as it was airing was tons of fun. I then marathoned about 5 shows in a row after catching up and in between waiting for new eps and the rest is history.

I found it to be one of the weakest casts (probably the weakest of any show I finished) and not the most engaging Sentai.
Dropped it at first due to lack of interest then came back to it when it was close to wrapping up. When I saw it through it did actually grow on me a lot, and I liked that it was doing something a little different with the villain factions. The cast grew on me to the point I at least liked most of them somewhat and I liked their power ups.
The least I've enjoyed a Sentai I've finished but still enjoyable overall.

Outside of Alata, Datas, Gosei Knight, and occasionally Hyde the crew itself doesn't really feel like they meld together. I myself thought it could have used a bit more comedic episodes since the cast themselves seemed great for it, especially Alata and Agri. That's honestly the only real thing I'd consider lame about it.

Well, what I did(and am still in the process of doing but there's so much else I want to get) is just collect the retail DX standalone sets. Once you get into the Premium Bandai/Gash/Candy Toy business it gets crazy expensive. A full set of JAKQ and Battle Fever J are both like $150-200ish. Meanwhile on the retail DX sets it's like $5-13 at most, and the only tough ones to find are Gorenger, Go-Bus pack 1(Red/Blue/Yellow Busters), Hurricanger, Boukenger, and there was one more I can't seem to remember.
It's not like anyone is forcing you to buy everything from the line either, but it was just an idea.

Mandy is good quality, it's just that they specify things specifically so you know what's up. When they're saying "Major box damage" that means that box is actually most likely damaged, ripped, torn into, etc, and since it's also been opened and used you risk the stuff inside also being damaged somewhat.
"Box damage small" is completely negligible and the worst it is is some creasing in the box as if you pushed a bit on it or the corners are dinged. "Opened" usually just means it's used in some way although they are way more careful with the toys when they're used in comparison to something you'd buy off of eBay for example so they're usually in good to excellent condition.
I'm only causing a fuss because having "Major box damage" coupled with both "Opened and used" isn't something Mandy takes lightly and is something to raise an eyebrow at.

I still don't know if a plastic/laminate would fix the problem. It slots into the tabs and you have to pull the card out forcefully to take it out, so where it nicks the bottom and the top of the normal cards it would eventually cause those bits to bend and possibly cause the card to warp if it was plastic.

True, but everything wears down eventually, especially with that kind of action against it. The most resistant material would be a printed plastic card, like how a credit card is made, but that would not only be much pricier, they toy would have to be redesigned to accommodate it since it would be a few millimeters thicker. The idea with a laminate or a thin plastic would be to at least increase it's lifespan. Anything to reinforce the card would make it stronger against creasing or nicking than just plain paper.

Not a lot of sounds, but it's loud as fuck and the sounds it does have are pretty neat, so if you can get it for cheap, which you can anywhere now, it's worth it.

It only has 4 usable buttons, but you don't understand how gratifying it is to slide it out to the twang sound, it feels so good. It can't read trains or anything though, and it's so extremely loud that even covering the second speaker people can still hear it.
The only downside is that the train it comes with can't actually connect to the toys which I thought it could, though the ToQ Changer can read it of course.

DX legendary ones are cheap(￥300ish), but the normal DX sets tend to be up there in price, the toys themselves are quite expensive, and if you don't plan on owning a full set of empty/recharged batteries you're going to have to pony up your money.
