Early game, it is freaking bananas. Sufficiently leveled, it is the absolute definitive parts-harvesting weapon.
It has crap for range, but up close it stunlocks like nobody's business and knocks off parts like crazy.
It just can't quite get legs knocked off of an enemy though, but that's hard to do in any case.

If we're being TRULY honest, the game is a Gundam dress-up simulator moreso than a game worth playing. It's like Dynasty Warriors with only vaguely more less mook fatigue and only after three games is starting to take itself less seriously enough to poke fun at itself.
If you're not spending a significant amount of time painting/assembling/upgrading your gundam with the associated parts management, then you're doing it wrong.

You do know how to use the Sort function right?
It puts everything neatly together in groups with the shoulder button and setting grouping priorities.
After that, you should spend about five minutes getting rid of parts you don't want in merging to level-up parts.
It's definitely not something you can escape, but it shouldn't be too time consuming either if you know your priorities.
Though I admit for me, it may be slightly easier because I'm ditching more or less everything not-Zeonic (including AU gundam series unless they look nice, or are legs which generally tend to go aesthetically with everything) and only saving other parts for either their Abilities or for level fodder.

I'm trying to collect at least one of each part, but i'd rather not try to sort through everything after each and every mission, so I just take it all and sort through it later. That's partly why it's been such a pain.
Neat little grinding tidbits for late game.
All stages in Newtype produce the same level drops, so what mission you do is only important depending on the type of part you want. Missions like 5-7 are great for this as you fight 12 aces, meaning lots of drops in a short time span. I'm normally getting 1-2 legendary drops and a few cubes as well. With the cubes in Newtype producing some really big increases to stats, same with abilities found on part drops.
Any suggestions for overloading my gunpla with sword options? So far I have the 00/Seven Swords backpack and anti-ship sword & katana builder parts.
There was something about "brinicle damage" on the loading screen but didn't react fast enough to read the whole thing.
I think it has something to do with freezing opponents movement for a short time.

Add the Green Frame legs as well, gives the Sword/Gun as an option part. There's a ton of sets of arms which give swords as weapons. Can't think of any heads or torsos though.

If you were able to enjoy Gundam Musou (which I thought was a cop-out ball of shit), then Gundam Breaker 3 will blow your mind.
The basic gameplay is similar, but there's less mooks, and with vaguely more variety of them. As well, you get to customize your own mobile suit the way you like it (offering far more control over this than GB1 and GB2).
If you like Gundam and have a relative command of the various alternate universes (i.e. UC, AC, FC, etc.) and their associated mobile suits, this game can't be anything BUT a sloppy love letter to fans (and technically more solid gameplay than nearly any other Gundam-associated game, sadly; stands head and shoulders over nearly all its cousins, particularly the arcade-port bullshit games).
However, if you don't have some command of the lore, it's going to be something of a mess.
There is at least a coherent (read: "not shit") plot in GB3, which prevous Gundam Breaker's lacked, but you should have an idea of Gundam Build Fighters at least to enjoy it, along with the ability to enjoy subbed Japanese audio along with usual anime trope characters (e.g. friendly tomboy with a heart of gold, materialistic douchebag, lazy genius with a soul on fire, etc.).

In GB2 it would happen when you used a series specific power-up skill alongside your Burst Mode. This game is like crack. So many parts to find, so many EX-Arts to master, and all in English. The first game doesn't compare to this at all, and it's especially good since I skipped the second.
I'm even reaching a point in the game where either my damage is starting to drop off or the enemies' HP is starting to skyrocket, but it's still the most fun I've had playing games in months.
Someone shut off my fanboy switch because this game won't stop making me cum and G Generation Genesis is getting this same translation treatment.

If you need it that early just get a decent build going and go to bounty hunter mode and refresh until you find one using Barbatos parts. Beat it up and get some parts.
