The scene with Shinichi eating Maria and flying off? Ishikawa most certainly planned that as the original ending and wanted it to be an iconic moment like Ryo holding Akira's dead body was, but Maria didn't get to do shit in the manga and so it just didn't have the same impact. Neither did Genzo, and the actual nature of his plan was never explained, and Shinichi didn't get much character development either. The OVA was dumb and poorly animated and it somehow managed to make Shinichi into an even bigger asshole but at least it was made with the ending in mind and actually gave Genzo a fight.
Majuu Sensen was disappointing which is sad because it really had a ton of potential and the fights were brutal as fuck. I loved the villain designs too, they were really unsettling.

Getter Robo Go - This show honestly looks super fun. The fact that it was originally gonna be a Mazinger reboot makes me want to read it more.
Mach GoGoGo/Speed Racer X - I grew up watching this dubbed VHS tape of the show. Only twelve were every dubbed due to Speed Racer Enterprises suing the company that dubbed the show. At least half of the dub seems to be available on VHS, and a quick eBay search brought them up with ease, though they seem to have been released under the name of, "The New Adventures of Speed Racer"; there apparently was a US comic book tie-in, too. One of the episodes had Go/Speed traveling to some other dimension where everyone had some kind of combat car and he had to compete in some thing and then got stuck in a traffic jam when trying to get out so he could get back to the big race or something; the other had to do with time travel and dinosaurs. I wanna see what the original version was like.
The old VOTOMS manga - This was apparently published in a young boys' magazine. I just wanna see how different it is. It's pretty short, too.
I had think a bit to come up with a few things. With how Discotek is releasing stuff and the rate a which things get subbed nowadays, I'm running out of things to pine for. At least /m/-wise. I was about to mention Dorvack (I raw-watched an ep and it seemed pretty cool) is likely gonna get subbed soon. Someone's also about to do Gold Lightan.
