Akito 5 BD fucking when?
>>
I know it's not exactly needed but I'm redoing the lineart sections of the Model Works. Uploading to one rar on G-Drive once I'm done.
>>
>>14107112
it was needed: some new stuff was blurred due to to being near the spine, thanks again

ZetlandHeartTemp.jpg
961 KB, 1952x2348
And done with the Zetland's edit

Moving on to Sheffield
>>
>>14107673

That actually turned quite well and may be better as the main lineart on the profile, obviously we shall see how my vol scans turn out for it first.
>>
>>14108013
does Model Works have a scratchbuild of another ship besides the Avalon?
>>
>>14108016

Only the Avalon, why?
>>
>>14108062
I wanted to see if that rear long shaft it always had is actually a cannon or a catapult like the front one. Does it show where it missile pods are located?
>>
>>14108013
We'll see when we get it.But we'll still need it for the other stuff like the Hadron stuff.

But yeah, its not that editing these are necessarily hard, but the amount they have needed is a lot more tedious than when I did the stuff for the Gram and Amanecer from the volume, or the PW2 Alexander stuff.

I've had to magnify and edit to get rid of the red in the background, then edit the entire background to make sure its all a solid color without the white sticking out from the majority gray, then clean up the outline to make sure that there aren't any issues sticking out.
It just takes a lot of time to clean the outline.
>>
Finally translated all the Lancelot manuals, now we wait for the wikia melodrama to add them
>>
>>14108111

I meant to ask balofo, where did the armor material of KMF being tungsten come from? Not doubting it just never knew that'd been mentioned somewhere before.
>>
>>14108337
From the chapter kills Cerberus in the village, it says every KMF armor is made of tungsten. It also mentions a specific type for the cockpit.

From the TV series the Slash Harken is made of tungsten carbide, weapons in OZ and Akito are made of Tungsten Steel.

It must be an alloy, but I don't know the exact one(I doubt they even know).

Tungsten is also a good conductor so it fits the electricity powered them as well
>>
>>14108370

I see, cool. I never knew that.
>>
Hey everybody, Commission bro here. Been busy with some things in my own life lately and haven't had a chance to look into a new translator just yet.
Gonna be resuming the search soon.

>>14108370
By the way, to answer your question from last thread, I believe it's assumed that the Alexander uses an Yggdrasil Drive since as far as we know, all KMF use it. The fact that it's where the Sakuradite is means it would have to be the standard due to Gefjun stuff
>>
>>14108396
yeah, I wonder if the EU uses the same standard battery since the Rakshata made ones use the Britannian battery too
>>
>>14108506
Who can say? Right now, we have nothing that contradicts that. So for now, we can assume that Yggdrasil Drives are the only KMF power source
>>
>>14108663
relax Bahamut

>>14108692
Commission bro still, actually

Just offering my two cents here

halfway thru the Guren manual, kanji guessing game
>>
I'm almost done with editing the Sheffield picture.

Running out for a bit right now, but I should be done with it soon when I get back
>>
I'm doing miracles with these shitty manual scans, at least it's worth since the Guren info can reused for the Gurens/Gekkas/Akatsukis/Byakuen/Zangetsu.

the hard part is done since I had the text for the weapons/equips.

I'm going to have to reconstruc the Vincent Command Type description too.

List of Geass powers that would've been more interesting than Xin's.

1. Nightmare Paralysis
>For as long as eye contact is maintained, the user can paralyze the victim and feed them horrible hallucinations.
>Restrictions: None, so long as they're looking into the victim's eyes. Unlimited uses. When they lose control of their power, it works anytime they make eye contact with someone regardless of turning it on.

2. Meat Puppet
>Can control a persons body completely after transferring their consciousness to them. User's body falls asleep until they are done.
>Restrictions: Can only be used on a person once, and on one person at a time. Lasts no more than 12 hours. When they lose control of their Geass, they could potentially lose their mind or astral-project forever.

3. Laserbeam Eyes
>This one is so obvious why haven't they done it already? The lasers refract like light.
>Restrictions: Can only shoot within a certain distance. When they lose control of their power, they become like Cyclops from X-Men.

4. Vampire Gaze
>Eye contact drains a person's energy, essentially putting them to sleep if enough is taken, and replenishes the user's energy. The victim would stay fatigued long after the initial use.
>Restrictions: Can be used once a day. Can't drain all of a person's energy/kill them. (Their eyes would close as they fall asleep.)
>>
>>14111459
Just hold their eyes open and vamp their soul out.
>>
>>14111465
They'd still be unconscious, and the power wouldn't work if they're unaware of it, kind of like Lelouch's Geass. I thought of that right after I posted it.
Geass powers are kinda hard to come up with since they all are related to the victim's mind/user's eyes.
Xin's was just so uninspired, though.
>>
>>14111485
Pump full of amphetamines/adrenaline to get them as awake as possible so you can kill them outright when their heart collapses.
>>

That's a cool workaround for it, but why not just kill them after they pass out? Y'know, like with a gun or blade.

baha, people are again editing the KMF main page to add the Bamides as a KMF.

Bamides, Liverpool and Gardmare are not KMFs.

lock that page until we start updating the wiki, for the better.

Wouldn't it be easier to add a link to the KMF page which takes you to a separate page for all other non-KMF vehicles? I can't think of a good name, but it would help.

Just so that people wouldn't be confused (or butthurt) and can easily go from one page to another.

Reposting from another thread because I'm retarded:

I just finished Code Geass Akito. Wow that was...really not great.

I mean, episode 5 was better than the others but it still didn't feel right. So much stuff when completely unexplained or amounted to nothing. General Smilas' rebellion went nowhere, being crushed in less than a minute DURING THE CREDITS. That Geass ghost lady is also a huge question mark as they go out of their way to say she's different from C2, but never anything about her aside from being the "collective consciousness", something that has never been brought up before this point (unless you count the Sword of Akasha but I don't think that's the same), nor do they explain what she has to do with Smilas.

Let's also not forget that the good guys don't suffer a single casualty during the entire final battle, as we never see any Alexander blow up, just sort of fall over or stumble backwards as they get shot up. Lelouch and Suzaku are so pointless they might as well not have been in the show at all, as the entire subplot with Kingsley adds absolutely nothing to the proceedings.

I did enjoy the fighting come the end though. As much as I dislike the design of centaur robo the Sutherlands were cool. They faught more like how they did in the original, as I don't recall them ever being capable of somersaults as they did in the previous OVAs. I also liked Akito's Liberte, reminded me of Tohdoh's Zangetsu.

Really though so much of the series felt so un-Code Geass or poorly explained that I feel like it could have benefited from being a full 2 cour rather than a set of 5 OVAs. More time to tell the story, establish the characters etc.

Adding to all that I should mention I haven't looked into the picture drama or any side material, just the OVAs themselves. Overall I didn't HATE Akito, I just felt very disappointed.

On to OZ, which I'm told is pretty damn good. Sorry for the wall of text.
>>
>>14113973
>On to OZ, which I'm told is pretty damn good
Kek
>>
>>14113973
I feel basically the same and it's widely accepted that Akito was poorly written/directed but had awesome mecha action.

OZ first series is ok, but way better than Akito. They should have animated it instead.
>>
>>14114005

It just has so many points where I can almost see where they took whole sections of script and axed them.

Like Smilas' rebellion, what the hell was the point of that? It lasted all of 5 minutes and was easily bitchslapped away. And I thought the EU were portrayed as pussies in the original, goddamn.
>>
>>14113973
I happen to hold a dissenting view. I don't quite agree, because for me there's a difference between being unexplained and ambiguous, which does clearly apply to a number of elements in Code Geass Akito to be sure, and amounting to nothing. General Smilas could have been defeated in a much better battle, for instance, but the rest of his role was already exhausted. While it would have been nice to know more about his past with the Geass lady, in practice he wasn't the main antagonist nor as important as Shin.

At the same time, I happen to really like the Geass ghost lady concept and feel that connecting it to the collective consciousness from the TV show, which also wasn't exactly explained in great detail, helps make it interesting enough. In short, she is another manifestation of the same entity. That said, if you explain absolutely everything about the magical or Geass matter, there's no mystery or mystique left. By the way, the Sword of Akasha was merely a place for a ritual (that temple in the clouds) intended to kill said collective.

As for the good guys, I disagree with the assumption that having a massive body count is inherently better than the opposite. I think it's just as valid a possibility. Lelouch and Suzaku did admittedly not play much of a role beyond showing us how they have a messed up dynamic , but I didn't expect them to do so by default.

The fighting was great and I've actually grown to like the centaur design a lot more than practically any Britannian one from R2. It matches the knightly motif.

Of course, the OVA could have benefitted a lot from being a full series. However, I didn't find it all that un-Code Geass myself. It wasn't the exact same thing, to be sure.

I do admit the ending was arguably the weakest part, but my disappointment was more restricted.

Oz is decent enough. They also have a somewhat rushed ending for that one, apparently, but there is more time to set up and develop the cast of characters.
>>
>>14114035
Sure, things were definitely rushed and compressed. I assume that if you added in things like the light novel adaptations and other extras that would help to flesh out certain underexplored areas. Which also happened back with the original show, unfortunately. But I think that what is there, by and large, still tends to work out.

I would argue Smilas and his dictatorship weren't meant to be the ultimate military foe or anything, but were relevant for a couple of reasons. One, it is simultaneously a reflection of and an answer to the stagnant, corrupt state of the EU government in particular. Implicitly, that also helps understand how and why Britannia could defeat it so quickly. They weren't using their resources in the best manner and were full of internal divisions. Presumably the fall of the Smilas faction only weakened them further, considering his land offensive probably became a failure upon his death.

Two, it connects to the larger theme about this fictional world being very screwed up because of bad people and liars like Smilas yet still remains worth living in (or for), in the eyes of our heroes. Not exactly the most creative thought in the world, but it is in there.

And, to be fair, even with his defeat being too quick...I'd say that the portrayal of the EU in general has already been more respectable than that shown in the TV series, so it is an improvement. Just not as great as it could have been.
>>
>>14114005
>OZ first series is ok, but way better than Akito.
Not even close.
>>
>>14113973
>so much stuff when completely unexplained or amounted to nothing.
Just like R1 and R2 only I only had to go through 5 episodes instead of 52
>>14114005
OZ is garbage but I guess it's "Code Geass" enough to sustain your autism.
>>
>>14114081
>>14114072
>OZ is garbage but I guess it's "Code Geass" enough to sustain your autism.

Amusingly, I think your own "autism" is on display right here.
>>
>>14114041

I see your point about Geass ghost lady, but it really felt like something that should have been explored more. I'm all for ambiguity, and for keeping some mysteries, but she played a role that in any other series I would think was set up for later story. Like V.V in the end of R1, it was obvious he would be explained later in some capacity.

And what I meant about the bodycount was that I felt like the Euro-Britannian forces got steamrolled while the Alexanders barely had to try. Admittedly we didn't see much of the fighting outside of Akito's battle with Shin, so maybe that could be part of it. I did enjoy the clever use of traps though, like those spikes in the ground impaling the Sutherlands. It wasn't quite Lelouch level of keikaku but I liked how they'd clearly thought this defense out.

I'm also one of those heretics who thought the R2 designs were even better. Yes, I liked the float system, weird I know. I think my biggest problem with the centaur was the weapon, how fucking impractical is that clock gear spear thing? How top heavy is that? When it whipped out the sword, THEN it worked better overall to me.

I dunno, maybe the disappointment is fresh in my mind and I'll be less sour later. I just felt like a whole lot of this stuff could have been avoided in a straightforward series rather than a spread out set of 5 OVAs.
>>
>>14114088
Concerning that topic, I think the point was the expand what could be done within the Geass universe beyond just Akito. She serves as part of the storytelling framework and could be used for future stories (even to connect the current time line with an AU as "another dimension" or whatever) without much difficult.

That lance thing with the gears was nuts. What I like is the rest of the design.

Absolutely, which is why it's unfortunate that the director didn't realize how much time he had for all of his ideas. There's still interesting stuff yet, sadly, it isn't as exploited as you could have imagined a full TV would have done.

1)They will sound weird as fuck in English for the most part
2)Romaji would be easier but the meaning would be lost for most people
3)Romaji with literal translation in parenthesis

The anime translated some like the Kaiten Yabaitou as rotating cutting blade(should have been rotating/revolving blade sword) or half translating the Shen Hu's cannon.

Eternal Dreamer has completed chapter 1 but he said he will do the whole vol 1 before officially releasing anything. There was some extra text in the vol. in comparison with the original HJ chapter. I'm quality checking his work too.

Regarding translating the japanese mecha equipment names I think will do like this:
-For the slash harken/landspinner I will have them named as Hien Soga (Slash Harken) and Kokisokudorin (Landspinner).
-The glide wings will be HishoKassoYoku(Float Unit)
-The swords will be left in japanese like Kaiten Yaibato

Aside from Code Geass Oz the manga being "gray" canon, out of universe statements made by another creator aren't strictly reliable since they can be contradicted later on (especially if said creator was just working for hire and moved on, like the Akito director did).

there was also a Hadron Cannon turret mounted on a T4 VTOL on the same battle
>>
>>14128541
>>14128549

Those are MP Hadron Guns? Geez.

This is as bad as Shin's BL sword in Akito. Where was all this tech in R2?
>>
>>14128569
>This is as bad as Shin's BL sword in Akito. Where was all this tech in R2

The same place where all the tech introduced in 0080, 08th MS Team and a million other side stories was during the 0079 MSG anime.
>>
>>14128585

Very fair point. Head's up all btw since I had some free time I'm redoing the MW scans just now.
>>
>>14128569
The Vercingetorix having a BL Cone sword would be ridiculous if it was part of it when Shin received the KMF since the Grail was still testing the tech. If it's a later addition by Euro Britannia it could work.

Don't take the manga technical stuff seriously, some stuff is ok like the Sutherland Sniper since it's also powered by the Grandberry but the rest is ridiculous like the MP pre Float Units that appeared on the 1st series
>>
>>14128598
>the MP pre Float Units that appeared on the 1st series

How do you mean?
>>
>>14128424
Literally said "Satellite" on the screen he watching
>>
>>14128356

Define 'aren't any'? Do they mean no commercial satellites like TV (in which case how do they broadcast anything?) or none at all? Because if it's the former one could make the assumption black ops or military satellites exist.
>>
>>14128749
He said it in relation to the limited range of the 7th Gen KMF remote activation thing Suzaku and later Shin used.

It's not completely impossible that the Geass Order might have secret satellites though.

These, the Glindas also use them later in China
>>
>>14128816

I said that because I distinctly remember Charles broadcasting his I'M BACK BITCHES speech to Lelouch world wide in R2 and there's no way you could get a signal that vast without bouncing it somehow and I don't remember seeing towers to do that. At the very least they might have military satellites.

At least it's not as bullshit as the mysterious unseen power plants Cagallis' people had in SEED.
>>
>>14128833

Didn't the Sutherlands use float units in R2?

But then again they didn't look that big and hefty either. Huh.
>>
>>14128860
those can't be float units timeline-wise, they must use the same Bradford propulsion to work.

it's just the mangaka running wild
>>
>>14128876
Not true. Timeline wise, from the photo novel, the MP Float was already in testing and production on a limited scale. That took place after Orpheus's mission to steal one for Rakshata.
>>
>>14129001
those don't look like the MP Float Units being tested so they are something else. Also they were used by random mooks and not the test team from the novel. MP Float Units only become common during 2nd Tokyo, very late in 2018
>>
Considering Britannia is a huge country, it isn't all that unexpected that they could have multiple companies (or even high-ranking nobles/KoR) trying out different kinds of tech, rather than just those few we saw on TV which were centered around events in Japan.
>>
>>14129079
I agree, but the most of the manga stuff is really ridiculous

The 88 Vincents owned by Merrybell at the beginning of O2 already did piss me off..
>>
>>14129079
That's definitely possible. After all, Guilford got a test pair of MVS. Furthermore, Lloyd was already test mass-application during the season one finale.
>>
>>14129112

I suppose you could argue that as a specialist team they would be given cutting edge stuff for battlefield testing? Still though 88 is a little much I'll grant you. Point is I could see them giving very early MP Floats to them.

I mean, SMS in Macross Frontier were given the latest model VFs for testing, and they were private contractors which is even riskier. At least giving them to Marrybell they have oversight.
>>
>>14129255
yeah the Initial MP Model was said to only be deployed to very few elite units in its manual.

Merrybell having 88 Vincents but not a single Float Unit for even the Gram was ridiculous. Since Leon also lead the Sky Knights division, its Gloucesters should have Float Units as the manga shows.

I guess they wanted to keep land battles for as long as possible.
>>
>>14129326

Well there is an argument to be made that the land battles were more fun to watch, but personally I like the air ones too.
>>
>>14129342
I feel they went out of the way to force the Gram to combine with the Bradford, it should be just for more firepower output. The Amanecer not having float is fine since it was a small terrorist organization.

Other strange thing is the Rekka not having Float since it fought the flying Agravain

Scanbro, the final O2 novel volumes has been announced for a 5/26 release. Number of pages should appear when it appears in amazon.

This confirms the novel ends this month so vol 2 will have to cover 13 chapters.

>prepare for small lineart
>>
>>14131837

I see, thanks for the info.

I'm really hoping the lineart won't suffer because of the rushjob. I'm going to hope for the opposite and say it means instead I'd have loads more pages to work with haha.

I really want good HighGrail lineart. I'm not sure if I should get the next HJ for Merrybell's KGF and what not.
>>
>>14131837
>>14132254
Really, hoping for Lancelot Club and Palomides linearts to be among them.
Even if they are half a page each.
>>
I just want detail lineart for the sword blazer/sword harken/combined sword whip from the High Grail

The Gouka shouldn't have much besides what we've already got

Palomides and Club will probably remain manga only
>>
>>14132291
>>14132614

Yeah unfortunately, I really had hoped for the updated Club lineart though. It'd be nice if they end up doing a mook or OZ model works though covering all versions of Oz.
>>
>>14132934
we really need a book for the Akito specs and missing lineart

There should be some more OZ lineart that they haven't published yet too.

BTW the manga Club only difference is the sword MVS instead of the Lance ones. Though it would be cool to know its background in the canon universe
>>
>>14132966

The design looked updated though. The horn was longer, the edges a bit less curved ect. Given where it's sword MVS came from it's pretty obvious it was updated to reflect the Lancelot Akito Ver. Plus you do sort of want to see how its Cone Luminous works, admit it haha.

I doubt Akito will get anything further mechanic-wise; seems they left that stuff to the wayside.
>>
>>14132986
I believe that is just the mangaka style, and that Luminous Cone doesn't make sense since Gram's one has dedicated port to use it instead of them appearing over the vanilla Lancelot BL/Slash Harkens.

This reminds of how much of a letdown O2 was...

Bahamut, if you want to help me you could start cropping the new MW scans separating the lineart pieces for the new profile pages.

Main front/rear lineart(and their variations like weapon equipped/deactivated mode) and transformations should be separate images, that's only for color lineart.

Akito is a 6 or 7 out of 10. Not as good as it could have been, due to the rushed ending and some magical handwaving, but I'd argue it's better than a lot of Geass clones at least. The battles are very cool. Cast is alright.

Scanbro reporting in:

Got through the first 4 chapters of Side 2 tonight. Doing the rest tomorrow; fyi I can't wait to see if Chapter 14 - the mock or simulated battle of the Lancelots - has anything interesting given it's my favorite KMF.

Like before this will be a full scan. That then leaves me Side 3 and O2 Side 1 before O2 Side 2 arrives. I'm so eager for its release and arrival.

I really hope HighGrail and Gouka among others get their own spreads and not a bunched up page like the KoR/anime-appeared KMF did; I mean Guren gets a two page spread in Side 2 so there's great hope despite how much this last Side needs to cover.

BTW is there a large color front lineart for the Albion in this book? The one from MW is cut-off and the wikia one is photshopped. I have one but it's going to be a pain to clean due to the background.

There was no colored lineart in the book. Why not use the MW one and remove the EW effect?

>>14151303
the EW is part of the lineart so it needs to be included.

Regarding the info from the TC2 it repeats some old like the BK's float unit having better maneuverability and some info from the manuals. It outright affirms some things like the Excalibur being a MVS and the Shinkiro's barrier being a strong BL while speculates on other things.

Being a Lancelot fan, I really wish sometimes the Club had been animated during R1 and introduced us to a new Britannian character as opposed to new Black Knights. Not Rai but someone else.

That said I wish they would do Macross movie-type treatment where it tells an alternate story using the same base setup.
>>
>>14155523
Lelouch only had Kallen and Tohdoh as compentent underlings, if anything he needed at least another good pilot(4 Holy Swords were a joke) and a good sub commander(fuck Ohgi).

an AU movie of the Black Rebellion would be amazing, I believe that was Taniguchi's plan for the rumored movie
>>
>>14155540

I just mean in terms of Britannia vs BK we got a lot more named characters because they were the good guys. I would have liked a nice surprise of the Club to mess up Lelouch's plans real well and maybe give Kallen her own rival making Suzaku just for Lelouch/Tohdoh.

An AU movie sounds good. Any more info or rumors regarding that movie idea?

>>14155540
Xingke fits both roles, as an ace pilot and the best choice for a commander after Lelouch, no contest.

Anyway, I'd say that for the next Geass project, the best choice would be a TV series with an alternate events. Either a whole different set from the beginning, or it starts at a specific event and diverges from there. Ideally, at least in my opinion, it could also have characters from Akito and Oz as well as some new ones to keep things fresh.

>>
>>14158222
Ah yes.
Nippon's greatest achievement.
>>
>>14158222
Ah. Cool. Maybe they'll do some animated Oz scenes, since I know some pachinko games do that.
>>
>>14158116

That's really weird. Hold on.

Oh wow, they're animating Florence for it? That's pretty awesome. Florence is easily one of my favorite Oz designs, so I'm excited for this.
Definitely post footage of the scenes from this when it comes out.

Hopefully more Oz stuff gets in.
>>
>>14158247
now it worked, thanks

>>14158271
if I ever see footage of the Florence in action I will post here, no guarante some jap will record it specifically.
>>
>>14158279
Yeah, I know. Hopefully someone does record the new scenes. Not just of Florence, but all the new stuff, like how Kallen, Todoh and Xingke triple teamed, aND the new fights I saw in that trailer.
>>
>>14158222
Now I can truly push the Xingke.
>>
>>14158212
>>14158222
Intersting how something from a spin-off is getting into something that is for the TV series. So does this mean that the Florence is officially acknowledged as canon?

Wonder what other surprises might end up in here.
>>
>>14158375
>Florence is officially acknowledged as canon?
Hope so.
It's so bae.

This is pretty interesting news from side story related stuff.

awesome job, already sent the link to Eternal Dreamer
>>

Even if Lelouch and Marrybell did marry, I doubt that they would have done it for any romantic reason. Likely just as part of the evil emperor act.

That said, if there is a marriage between them, I'm totally going to use it to troll Geass threads on /a/

Stop
I don't need the image in my mind.
>>
>>14159139
Lelouch always was a siscon, and Marrybell was the character most similar to him.
