He never transformed into Den-O Rod or Wing Form despite having the cards for them. He didn't use the bulk of his KamenRides' abilities. He only used Dimension Slash exactly once. He never used KamenRide: Ultimate. In all his combined appearances, he's only shown a small fraction of what he's theoretically supposed to be capable of.

It's all about execution when it comes to matching two unlikely themes to make them into great ideas.
Drive basically tries to make Knightrider out of the toy-car concept
Gaim had to switch between Sengoku drama and references to the forbidden fruit to work with the fruit-armor, while dance-battles/coming-of-age teenagers was initially meant to work with the lockseed aspect.
Fourze had friendship which worked quite well with the Space theme in many unique ways. Probably the best compatibility.
Ghost is just fucking everywhere though. The toys are random, the selection of legendary souls they chose are random, and a lot of the story is a fucking derivative of past rider works. It's a bore in the worst sense.

Ghost's best point so far is that the plot's pacing is rocketing along and it's unpredictable.

I kinda disagree with the "rocketing pace" anyhoo. The first 10 episodes of the show nothing happens, we don't know anything about the villains motivation for the show and there's no character developement. Only lately have we been starting to see the villain faction get fleshed out and Takeru is becoming a bit more steadfast.
I just wish he wasn't such a boring sadsack. Even Haruto was more fun... I'm not saying everyone has to be a goofball but it's so annoying that both riders are so damn serious all the time, lighten up, it's a show with a kabuki monk and a flying ghost handpuppet!

The lockseeds tie directly into a forest as the big threat though. And the "Pokemon" are summoned by the lockseed and created by animals and people eating the Helheim fruits.
The ties of Helheim to mythology and legends about ancient fruits since ancient ages tie into the whole historical warrior visual motif of the Riders.
Only the dance stuff is unrelated, but it was there mostly as set up for the teen groups, since they couldn't get street gangs approved.

The same thing had already happened with OOO and Wizard. Gaining their Rider titles in crossover meant they'd get no 2nd introduction in the series.

Eh, I thought Gaim handled power levels rather well. There were some lame excuses for power level fluidity at times, especially that one battle where Micchy going crazy somehow was a power up, but at least they had an excuse for it, rather than just making things flow like the plot needed without explanation.

I'm not trying to push fanons or whatever in the way of judging the show. But there are things like the movie villian as not only canon, but the FINAL boss after all that shit that never involved him was what a majority of people agreed to be bad taste, in contrast to what was established and expected from the series. All those factors like Yomi and Joey's realization make it obvious that they rushed through the final segments of Gaim and are trying to wrap up as many loose ends as they can, yet it ends up making more problems than solving them. The ending was definitely mediocre at best compared to the tension of the show's beginning and middle, or even compared to shows of the opposite that have good endings, like OOO.
