I like how in Shinkenger that the monsters growing is basically their "second life" and it's natural in Sanzu River dwellers. It was refreshing for the team to know that the first monster they killed was going to grow and getting ready for it.

I once read that it may be because they know the gozma empire is exploiting other alien races to work with them against their will. Which is true in the end, since many of the gozma end up allied with them, including Gyodai ( who is also useful in the end).

I liked how in Timeranger the monsters, or more so criminals, grow large due to side effects of the beforehand cryo process. Some of them were so mad when they grew large.
I also liked that they didn't die when they were defeated and were just cryo'ed again and put back in police custody.

I've just watched Ninninger's 1st episode again. So many good things:

For me, that one Ohranger episode involving OhPink getting trapped in a nightmare comes quite close, also ''TODAY IS FRIDAY IN CALIFORNIA''
Just got done snapping candy toy Shinken-Oh. Some thoughts, for those curious.
Every part of the mecha is fighting me, and it's all Takeru's fault. The head can't move because of the angle of the chest. If you try to rotate the arms 360 the pegs they're in lift up and separate the entire chest. Shinken-Oh's waist section is loose and floopy. From the back, he looks like half a robot. The side skirts do nothing but hamper movement. The legs will fall off if you so much as breathe on them because the peg connecting them isn't long enough.
And the legs are two different fucking sizes. It seriously can't even stand flat-footed on its own because Kuma and Ryu are two different sizes when turned into legs.
If you like the emblem modes they're decent, but Shishi looks the worst. If you like the animal modes they're decent but again, Shishi is the worst. Shinken-Oh has to accommodate a mecha where everything connects into a central component as well as two alternate non-combined modes, and each feature make the other worse. Want an articulated, tiny Shinken-Oh? Buy the Super Robot Chogokin.

I don't really get what they are aiming for with Ohranger's cast. They are so bland aside from maybe the girls. I can barely tell green and blue apart. This shot makes it look like they are shipping these two together but then you have the fact that they removed the scene and the fact that the cast barely interacts all that much. The girls and Riki are cool but the 3 guys suck.
