The show gave lots of focus to the blue Cure for the first half, people often even talked about her being the actual main character, but at the halfway point of the show she was suddenly shafted out of the spotlight, and even the conclusion of her story was basically a footnote.
There was also a possible love triangle involved the pink and blue cures and a male secondary character, but it got pretty much shelved aside halfway through too without a proper conclusion (with an episode ending with a character telling her that what she was feeling probably isn't really love. She shows some doubt at the end, but then it's just all completely forgotten from that point and on and never mentioned at all again)
The purple Cure had a subplot focused on her sister that received a proper conclusion, but that made her completely irrelevant in the last fourth of the show.
The yellow Cure pretty much got no development at all, although she did have a subplot with proper conclusion, but it started very late.
The final battle was Pink Cure-only. Also, although it was Cure's first big anniversary season, the only anniversary related element were episode introductions by past Cures. Even though in that show there were many other Cures around the world, they couldn't even make any those based on past Cures or anything.

It seems that they snapped all the lines to scene transitions. So if a line would bleed over into the next scene it's set to end at the scene transition instead. That's why those longer lines are getting cut short.
